Quantum Tech Pod Episode 36: Richard Murray, ORCA Computing
Chris Bishop's latest Quantum Tech Pod with Richard Murray, Co-Founder and CEO of ORCA Computing is live.
His parents were science teachers who inspired hi to study math and physics. After receiving his PhD in coherent quantum comtrol of cold Rubidium atoms, Richard worked in the private sector--helped Oakley look at using nano structures to polarize their sunglasses! He led Innovate UK's £32 million program focused on quantum technologies, but had always wanted to start a company. So, in 2019, Richard co-founded ORCA Computing. His distinguished team identified that short-term quantum memories could synchronize photonic operations, performing what is known as "spectral multiplexing." Check out their conversation.

Quantum Tech Pod Episode 35: Steve Brierley, Riverlane, and Quantum Operating Systems
Chris Bishop’s latest Quantum Tech Pod with Steve Brierley, CEO/Founder, Riverlane is live! Steve founded the company in 2016, based on his passionate belief that fault tolerant quantum computers will accelerate a significant era of human progress and could be developed sooner than previously imagined. His company is building Deltaflow.OS – the operating system for error-corrected quantum computers. Innovate UK has provided £500k to explore using syndrome extraction (additional qubits) on superconducting quantum computers to develop error correction techniques. Riverlane will be presenting “Beyond NISQ: Defining the roadmap to error-corrected quantum computers” at IEEE Quantum Week next week. Check out our conversation!

Quantum Tech Pod Episode 34: EeroQ CEO Nick Farina: Electrons on Helium and the Pursuit of Universal Quantum Hardware
Chris Bishop’s latest Quantum Tech Pod with Nick Farina, CEO of EeroQ Quantum Hardware is live! Nick was a caddy at the Biltmore and then became a financial and tech journalist. He also started three companies. EeroQ Quantum Hardware is building a universal quantum computer by trapping and controlling individual electrons floating above pools of superfluid helium. Their ultimate goal: a large-scale quantum computer based on the magnetic (spin) state of these trapped electrons. Plus – they just announced a $7.25 million seed funding round! Quantum Tech Pod Episode 32: Quantum Cryogenics with Corban Tillemann-Dick, Maybell Quantum CEO
Chris Bishop on Quantum Tech Pod with Corban Tillemann-Dick, Founder/CEO, Maybell Quantum Industries is live! Before Maybell, Corban spent 10 years at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where he led Quantum Computing efforts. Working with many leading-edge players led him to believe that quantum was going to be as important to the next 60 years as integrated circuits have been for the past 60 years and he didn’t want to be on the outside. He left BCG and co-founded Maybell to make a revolutionary dilution refrigerator called The Icebox as well as a high-density wiring solution called Maybell Flexlines.
