On the day of August 23rd 2019 Michael Chad Breinholt showed up to his girlfriend’s work; although intoxicated, he also showed signs of severe mental distress.  The police were called due to a concern with Chad’s overall state and well being. Chad was taken into custody.  Despite numerous cries for help, Chad’s mental health was never assessed.  As Chad himself was an advocate for mental health and addiction treatment, his story is a prime example of a desperate need for mental health awareness and appropriate treatment. A case that truly captures the effects of untreated mental illness.  We are going back to Michigan with this one. On Thanksgiving Day of 1987 Bartley James Dobben made a quick stop at the Cannon of Muskegon Foundry, the place he had worked most of his life. He wanted to show his children the inside of the building, and grab his Bible before heading to family dinner. When Bartley left the foundry just minutes later; life would be completely turned upside down. What happened in just the blink of an eye would never be forgotten by the town of Muskegon. The Jameson family were described as free spirits. They had dreams of leaving their home, investing in a piece of untouched country land, and living the simple life.
