Visionary Leadership and the Implementation of Measure 109 in Oregon with Tom Eckert and Alissa Bazinet - 45

In 2015, Tom Eckart and his late wife Sheri Eckert had a vision – a vision that very few people thought was possible. They wanted to make access to psilocybin legal in the State of Oregon, which led them to create and lead the measure 109 initiative. Five years later on November 3, 2020, Ballot Measure 109 was passed with support from 1.233 million Oregonians, or 55.68% of the vote. In January 2023, “psilocybin service providers” will be legally allowed to serve psilocybin, as long as they have adequate training. We are less than one year away from the rollout and implementation of Measure 109 which of course opens up a lot of questions. What does psychedelic facilitations training look like? What is the core curriculum? Who’s offering this training? How much do these psychedelic facilitation trainings cost? How long will they be? Do you have to be a therapist or medical practitioner to get licensed? Are there apprenticeship models? In this episode featuring both Tom Eckart and Alissa Bazinet, a clinical psychologist who serves on the training subcommittee of the Oregon psilocybin advisory board, we dive into all of these questions about the specifics of Measure 109 and what it means for psychedelic practitioners. In the last part of the conversation, we get more personal as we explore the essence of visionary leadership and what it takes to not only dream the impossible, make it a reality. Season 2 of the Podcast is Gettin' Real. My Reflections on the Psychedelic Movement

Hi Friends, Laura Dawn here. In this introduction to season two, I share some thoughts about the direction of this season, including some of the core themes that I’ll be exploring through conversations with some truly phenomenal human beings, and brilliant thought leaders, in the psychedelic space and beyond. In this bonus episode, I dive into a pretty transparent share about what I've been witnessing in the psychedelic movement and an invitation for all of us to step up our game and do better. What we are witnessing right now in the psychedelic space is truly unprecedented, and it's not necessarily all a "good" thing. There are a lot of different factors and forces at play that complicate things. We are all being forced to live our lives and operate within old paradigms and structures that were built for a different era. We are living in late-stage capitalism and these very powerful compounds are emerging in a western medicalized culture that doesn’t actually have a lot of recent historical context for sacramental use of hallucinogens.Meanwhile, everyone's got a super strong opinion about how this movement "should" go down. This season we'll be exploring a variety of very nuanced, tricky, and challenging topics that explores the complexity of this movement with a deeper inquiry as to how we can contribute to the movement in the best way possible, starting with the invitation to lean into these conversations by listening with an open heart and an open mind. With the launch of season two, we also launched an entirely new website: www.lauradawn.coThank you for continuing to tune in and support this show. The Joy of Grief and the Ceremony of Living & Dying with Dream Mullick - 41

It’s when we learn to cultivate a relationship with our death and make peace with the fact that one day our lives will come to pass that we can learn to lean into living life more fully and more wholeheartedly. Founder of Entheowheel, Dream Mullick is a death coach. She leads people through what she calls the ceremony of living and dying, guiding you through the portal of death into rebirth, allowing your awareness of death to become a powerful catalyst for living life more joyfully right now. In this conversation, we explore the intersection of psychedelics, death, and eastern philosophy. We explore the paradox of what it means to be human and how to hold space for opening to feeling the full spectrum of what life has to offer us, from joy and inspiration to grief, pain, and suffering, while learning how to hold our center through it all. We talk about creativity and what it takes to anchor big visions, and the necessity of slowing down and finding stillness, opening the channel to receive guidance that comes from a higher place, so we can create from that space.
