Everything’s changing! The future of DOWNHILL according to Bernard Kerr

Rob and Eliot are joined by one of the most enduring names in downhill mountain biking today — Bernard Kerr. With over a decade of elite competition behind him, Bernard is still pushing the limits of downhill, racing against a new wave of younger, hungrier riders — and as you'll hear, he’s not holding anything back. The guys met up for this chat before Bernard's brutal crash while he was prepping for the first World Cup of the year, and that news hit even harder than usual considering how pumped Bernard was for this season. We know he'll be back. This conversation goes deep. Bernard opens up about the toll that crashing has taken on his body and mindset, and what it really feels like to pick yourself up again when you’re no longer the youngest guy on the start list. He reflects on how age has changed his approach to risk, racing, and recovery — and why, even now, he’s still finding ways to stay fast, focused, and fired up. The episode also tackles Red Bull Hardline, a race Bernard has become synonymous with. He shares his honest thoughts on how the event has evolved and the growing unease among riders over how information was shared — or not shared! — when it came to new lines in Tasmania this year. All we've got to say is... bring on Wales. Subscribe, leave a comment, and let us know what you think about what Bernard had to say — and we'll be back very soon.

Inside road cycling with Grand Tour winner Jai Hindley

In October 2020, Jai Hindley finished second in the Giro d’Italia. The then-24-year-old Australian had arrived. Two years later, after a near-flawless three weeks around Italy, he went one better. Giro d’Italia winner. Grand Tour champion. Legend cycling status secured.   Since then the Perth-born racer has worn the yellow jersey at the Tour de France, finished in the top 10, and is currently supporting Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe teammate Primoz Roglic at the 2025 Giro d’Italia.   He has a road cycling palmares that most young riders can only dream of - and this week on Just Ride, he joined Rob and Eliot from his training base in Switzerland to tell them all about it.   What’s it like to line up next to Tadej Pogacar? There’s that and so much more.   Next time on Just Ride? We’ll be on more familiar ground for Rob and Eliot with a return of a previous Just Ride guest. You’ll have to stay tuned to find out who (hint: he goes very quickly downhill).   In the meantime, email justride@redbull.com to get in touch with Rob, Eliot and the team.

How Lanterne Rouge went from podcasting to the peloton: previewing the Giro d'Italia with a cycling mastermind

Just Ride is BACK for season three - and on the eve of the Giro d’Italia, we’re starting with a man who can teach Rob and Eliot a thing or two about this year’s edition of the famous Italian Grand Tour. When Patrick Broe released his first-ever podcast in 2017, Lanterne Rouge, little did he know it would take him on a journey from Australia to Europe and land him a key strategic role in one of the world’s biggest and best road cycling teams. Now Head of Strategy for Visma-Lease-a-Bike and host of his own hugely successful video podcast, Patrick’s journey is almost unique in elite sport. Alongside sidekick Benji Naesen, Patrick breaks down the biggest road races in the world on his show — all while working as part of Visma-Lease-a-Bike’s strategy team, plotting the best ways for their stars like Wout van Aert and Jonas Vingegaard to win big. Patrick joined Rob and Eliot to give them the lowdown on the Giro d’Italia, an insight into his world, and breakdown some of the most fascinating nuances in elite road cycling. We will be back next week with another exciting Giro episode, when Rob and Eliot will be joined by Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe star Jai Hindley. Want to get in touch with Rob and Eliot?
