Open de France & Quicken Loans National 2018
Episode 34 - Late June and July sees the European Tour in the ascendency with 3 great Rolex Series events in the build-up to the Open Championship. French, Irish and Scottish Open titles are up for grabs, with this week's Open de France kicking-off preceedings. Played at Le Golf National, which will host September's Ryder Cup, a quality field including Justin Thomas will congregate just outside of Paris, to play an inland-links style course, which will be firm and fiery. The PGA Tour visits Washington D.C. for the Congressional Loans National, played at TPC Potomac. A Tiger Woods Foundation organised event, this Invitational status tournament is floundering, and the field depth is poor with only Rickie Fowler, Marc Leishman and Tiger himself attending from the marquee category.
Intro: 00:00; Post Travelers Championship + BMW Intl Open + Ryder Cup Chat: 02:22; Open de France Start: 12:43; Quicken Loans National Start: 45:02.

Travelers Championship & BMW International Open 2018
Episode 33 - A couple of well-respected tournaments across the PGA & European Tours the week after the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. The Travelers Championship is always a popular stop-off and at the top of the market we have Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Patrick Reed and Shinnecock champion Brooks Koepka. TPC River Highlands in Hartford, Connecticut is a stock, parkland par-70 with Bentgrass Poa Annua greens. A Pete Dye design, ball-strikers tend to dominate. In Cologne, Germany the BMW International Open attracts the likes of U.S. Open runner-up Tommy Fleetwood, Sergio Garcia, Thomas Pieters and Martin Kaymer. Golfclub Gut Lärchenhof is the perfect spot for high-class greens in regulation monsters so expect the likes of Fleetwood, Kaymer and Gagli to feature.

FedEx St Jude Classic & Shot Clock Masters 2018
Episode 30 - With Shinnecock Hills and the U.S. Open just around the corner, the PGA Tour and European Tour this week present the FedEx St Jude Classic and the Shot Clock Masters (don't ask). TPC Southwind is awash with U.S. Open champions in Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson + multi-nearly champions in Phil Mickelson. Henrik Stenson also plays and we will watch these guys with a keen eye to Shinnecock. Daniel Berger goes for a 3-peat and the sweltering heat of Memphis also sees the likes of Charl Schwartzel, Billy Horschel and Tony Finau. Over in Austria Keith Pelley's desire to push the boundaries of tournament formats sees the introduction of the Shot Clock Masters - played on the same course as the Lyoness Open. As an experiment it will be fascinating.

Memorial Tournament & Italian Open 2018
Episode 29 - The podcast may have delivered an each-way return with Jon Rahm last week, but both Francesco Molinari (25/1) and Justin Rose (20/1) proved illusive across the BMW PGA Championship and Fort Worth Invitational. This week the Rolex Series action continues with the 2018 Italian Open being played at the Gardagolf Country Club. It's a course which hasn't been played on the European Tour since 2003, but it's sure to be an old-style, tree-lined golf course. In Ohio, the PGA Tour moves to 'Jack's Place,' Muirfield Village Golf Club, for The Memorial Tournament. Probably the deepest 'domestic' tournament field of the year on the PGA Tour, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and World Number 1 Justin Thomas play in this homage to Jack Nicklaus. Rose, Spieth and DJ have a shot of capturing the OWGR No1 spot.

BMW PGA Championship & Fort Worth Invitational 2018
Episode 28 - After a decent week for the podcast with Adrian Otageui winning at 33/1 and Branden Grace placing at 25/1, the European Tour 2018 Rolex Series sees its first event this week - the iconic BMW PGA Championship from Wentworth. Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Alex Noren, Paul Casey and Branden Grace headline, with the likes of Ian Poulter, Francesco Molinari, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Tyrrell Hatton all in Surrey, south-west of London this week. With full wall-to-wall Sky TV coverage, the BMW PGA Championship is still one of the strongest events on the European Tour. Over in the United States we also have the Fort Worth Invitational to get our teeth stuck into. Colonial Country Club is a well respected venue and this is an Inivtational-Status tournament with an extended 3-year exemption for the winner. Field strength is strong with Jordan Spieth, Jon Rahm, Justin Rose and Rickie Fowler heading-up the final event of the 2018 Texas Swing.

AT&T Byron Nelson & Belgian Knockout 2018
Episode 27 - A new tournament and a new golf course greet us this week. The European Tour re-visits Belgium for the first time since 2000, with the inaugural Belgian Knockout. It's good to see another European-based event and the Knockout format is like Super 6 on steroids, with a decent enough field. In the United States, one of the longest serving PGA Tour events, the AT&T Byron Nelson moves to a new home in 2018. Trinity Forest Golf Club has gone down like a lead ballon with most of the top players giving it a total miss this week. A brand new, inland-links style course awaits those either brave enough or the majoroty who have no-option but to play it this week. A Coore and Crenshaw creation, it's not your standard PGA Tour stop-off.

The Players Championship 2018
Episode 26 - The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass annually has the deepest field in world golf. With a packed field of 144 players it's the highest quality field of 2018 and includes all of the World's top 50. The Stadium Course is a Pete Dye design, which is always set to favour no particular style - the best player of the week wins the tournament. However plenty don't like it, with it's whole structure looking to restrict powerful, attacking golf as much as possible. Paul and Steve take you through the tournament in-depth with Paul also giving you his prliminary thoughts on the Rocco Forte Open from Sicily, Italy which features on the European Tour.
