On this very special Father’s Day edition of Drinks With Johnny, we’re joined by the father-daughter duo of Glyn & Charley Johns!Glyn is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame producer best known for his work with Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, the infamous Get Back sessions with The Beatles, and many more. Charley is a PR director, and friend of the show, who has helped us bring on guests like Shavo Odadjian and many others.We give you a fly on the wall view of what it was like to grow up in the Johns household. This week we’re joined by punk rock frontman Russ Rankin of the legendary Santa Cruz band, Good Riddance! While Russ may be known for his passion on stage behind the microphone, we take a deep dive into his work away from music in the Western Hockey League. Russ explains to us how he helps younger generations prepare for careers as pro hockey players, and reveals how many times their parents are shocked to find out about his punk rock roots. After the hockey talk, we get into some Good Riddance. Russ explains how his approach to vocals has evolved since the inception of the band, and how Descendents’ drummer Bill Stevenson played a big role in that change.
