The outgunned and undermanned Miami Heat literally shot the lights out at TD Garden, stunning the Celtics 111-101 to win Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals and head home tied at a game apiece. All five starters scored in double figures for Miami. Bam Adebayo scored 21 points on 9-13 shooting, hitting huge shots and dominating the paint down the stretch. Tyler Herro added 24 points and 14 assists, and Caleb Martin added 21, hitting five three-pointers in a performance that looked a lot like his play in the conference finals last year. Jaylen Brown scored 33 points and Jayson Tatum added 28 for the Celtics, who dominated game one, winning by 20 points. The Celtics are the #1 seed and the best home team in the NBA, but the Heat came in focused and unfazed. The Heat hit seven three pointers in the fourth quarter to cut what was a 34 point deficit to 13, but it was way too little, way too late against the Boston Celtics, the East's #1 seed and the +125 odds on favorite to win the NBA Championship. The C's raced out to a 14-0 lead and never looked back, with reserve guard Sam Hauser hitting 4 three pointers- including 3 in a row- in the first quarter.Jayson Tatum had 23 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds to lead six players in double-figures for the Celtics.
