The Heat blew a 19-point 3rd quarter lead to the New York Knicks, falling 116-112 in overtime at home. Up by four points with a minute remaining in the game, the Heat allowed the Knicks to score four straight to force OT on OG Anunoby’s tip-in and Derek Brunson’s jumper. The Heat scored 62 points in the first half before the Knicks cranked up the defensive intensity and held them to just 50 points in the 2nd half and OT. Brunson scored 31 points after being held to just 5 in the 1st half. Anunoby added 23 points and Karl Anthony Towns had 19 points and 16 rebounds for the Knicks, who are now 5-0 in overtime and have won three straight. Brunson’s 3-pointer with 2:27 remaining in overtime 7-0 started a 7-0 run that put New York ahead for good at 111-110. The Heat cut it to 114-112 when Alec Burke nailed a 3-pointer with 27 seconds left, Bam Adebayo led Miami with 30 points. Tyler Herro had 22, hitting only 2-11 from three-point land. Rookie Kel’el Ware added 12 points and a career-high six blocks. New York erased an 11-point deficit early in the fourth and took its first lead at 101-100 late in the game. Andrew Wiggins missed his 2nd straight game with a sprained right ankle. Tyler Herro scored 24 points and dished out 10 assists, and Duncan Robinson made 6 3’s and scored 24 points off the bench as the Heat shot a season-best 59% in a 131-109 win over the Atlanta Hawks at Kaseya Center. Davion Mitchell went 5-5 from 3-point land and scored 20 for Miami, and Bam Adebayo added 20 points and nine rebounds while playing through nagging injuries to his back and calf. After scoring just 86 points Monday night in Atlanta- the Heat put up 65 points in the first half, then 66 more in the second half. Miami made 23 3-pointers, one short of the franchise record. Dyson Daniels led the Hawks with 18 points.
