After dropping 31 points in a Summer League game, the Dallas Mavericks decided to shut him down for the rest of the summer. It’s not a bad thing at all, and we discuss why it’s okay that he’s getting some rest. We also recap the latest episode of The Brotherhood Podcast, where Nik Khamenia was the featured guest. After the break, Duke Men’s Basketball dropped some video highlights from a scrimmage they had over the weekend, and it’s time to overanalyze it. The NBA Draft is in the books, and we celebrate Sion James and Tyrese Proctor hearing their names called in the 2nd round on Episode 737! Sion James made a surprise leap into the first 3 picks of the second round, and he’ll join Kon Knueppel on the Charlotte Hornets. Tyrese Proctor had to wait a bit longer, but the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the 49th pick. Donald and Jason talk a bit about how they will fit with their teams and the fact that both are set up to potentially receive guaranteed multi-year deals. We heard it three times in the top ten of the NBA Draft... Adam Silver uttering the words "...from Duke University." Cooper Flagg, Kon Kneuppel, and Khaman Maluach live their dreams and heard their names called at the top of the 2025 NBA Draft. The Duke Basketball Roundup breaks down what the moment meant to each of these beloved Dukies and how they fit in their new NBA homes. Of note, each of them head to teams that are already loaded with members of the Brotherhood, which should make the transition just a little bit easier. We don't get into a discussion of whether he will go #1, that is a foregone conclusion, but we do dive into whether Dallas should even begin to consider trading the pick for an established NBA superstar. Part four of the Duke Basketball Roundup's NBA Draft series features Jay Bilas breaking down Kon Kneuppel's game. For a kid who many doubted would even be a starter a year ago, Kon blossomed into one of the best players in the land and a guy who could go top 5 in the lottery. Jason and Donald also dive into what they like about Kon's game and what NBA teams could be worried about in taking him with a high draft pick.
