#237 - Virtual Countdown to Craziness will probably be awesome
This week, Duke MBB put out a video of Coach K teasing a virtual Countdown to Craziness. It will not have the live energy of the usual, but you can beat that your favorite Duke podcast team is excited to see what the program comes up with.
After our now-standard love for Duke MBB social media, we pivot to the football team, which is reeling at 0-4 following a loss at home to Virginia Tech. What can Duke do to right the ship to avoid further ACC losses? We find a touch of optimism.
Following the break, we get into a tough discussion about the worst losses we've all experienced as Duke fans. Enjoy some catharsis on this episode.

#236 - Duke vs. Elon/Bellarmine, NBA Finals preview
On this episode of the DBR Podcast, we discuss a little nonconference schedule, the NBA Finals, and a clip from JJ Redick on why he's the most hated of the recent Duke players! We begin with the report that Duke will not play Howard in the showcase that is being put together, but rather we will play Elon and Bellarmine. After reactions to that, we move onto the NBA Finals, which were set to debut at the time of recording. Who has the edge, the Lakers or the Heat?
After the break, we discuss a clip from JJ Redick to Grayson Allen about who was the most hated player. JJ recalls a particular game where he encountered a ton of well-documented abuse. Finally, we end with a Duke Football preview as they prepare to take on Virginia Tech this weekend.

#234 - Duke 5v5 analysis, Howard commits to Duke showcase
We have some "game" tape to review, and because of that we get off to a hurry on Episode 234! We begin with our over-analysis and excessive speculation of the 5v5 scrimmage footage that was released this week by Duke Basketball. We break down what we saw from every player and the team in general, and we speculate as to what it could mean for starting lineups and rotations this season. We don't know anything, but it's good to have some basketball tape to review!
We also got a prediction right! Howard has verbally committed to be a part of the Duke Basketball showcase that is being planned for December. We also learn that the ACC/B1G Challenge will proceed on campuses. We react to that news and how the non-conference schedule is coming together.
After the break, we preview Duke Football's big game against the Virginia Cavaliers. It's a must-win game in September, so we take a look at the Wahoos and what DukeGang will need to do if they want to leave Charlottesville with the win.
Don't forget to rate and review our episodes and subscribe! All of that really helps us. And, continue the conversation on the DBR Forums!

#233 - Duke looking to host their own tournament
Sam, Donald, and Jason sit down for a potpourri of topics. The conversation begins with a discussion about Duke hosting its own tournament over Thanksgiving and we take some educated guesses at the teams who might be brought in to play.
Then, we move onto the NBA playoffs for a look at Jayson Tatum's impressive performance, including some eye-popping stats that show how far Tatum has come as a player since his season in Durham.
After a short break, the guys are back to talk about football. We know you might want to forget about that terrible loss to BC, but the podcast crew has a job to do so they break down the good, the bad, and the ugly (and there was plenty of ugly) from the 26-6 debacle.
And we wrap things up with some words on Nolan Smith and Justin Robinson, a pair of former Duke players who each had some pretty cool stuff happen to them this past week.

#232 - NCAA announces 2020-21 season start date
The NCAA announced Wednesday the new start date for the 2020-2021 college basketball season, and we jump on to react to it all! The new season will start on November 25th, and we discuss what that means for the early season games that we come to expect. How many games can Duke play? How many nonconference games are mandated? How will these games happen? We discuss it all! After the break, we bring back Parting Shots, with more discussion on the NCAA's college basketball announcement, we give Coach Cutcliffe his flowers on his 66th birthday, and we quickly discuss Jayson Tatum making 3rd team All-NBA and somehow getting snubbed in the process. #231 - Nolan turns down Penny Hardaway and Tatum is balling out
On this episode of the DBR Podcast, we are back to basketball. First up, we talking about Nolan Smith's flirtation with an assistant coaching position at Memphis with Penny Hardaway, a move that would have technically been a promotion for Nolan, although he opted to stay in Durham. What does this mean for Nolan's future and that of the Duke assistant coaching bench? Jason brings some good historical data to this one.
We move, then, to the NBA, where Jayson Tatum and the Celtics are heading to Eastern Conference Finals to face Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat. It may not be LeBron vs. Paul Pierce, but it should be great television. How did Tatum get so good at both ends of the floor?
After the break, the gang dives into the ACC's proposal to let every eligible team into the field of however many it takes to stage a massive NCAA tournament next spring. Feasible? Maybe not. Revealing? Absolutely.
Speaking of finances, the gang wraps this week with an update from Duke Athletics about its current financial position. As you might expect, it's a tough year for the Duke Athletic department.
