#256 - Breaking down the loss to MSU
We try to figure out what happened against Michigan State on Episode 256 of the Duke Basketball Report Podcast. On this episode, we spend a lot of time analyzing what went wrong in Duke's loss against the Michigan State Spartans. From the ineffective offense to the issues with intensity, we discuss what Duke needs to do to improve from here. We react to some quotes from the postgame press conference from Coach K, Jordan Goldwire, and Matthew Hurt, and we also react to a listener’s question about this year’s leadership and who it could be.
After the break, we discuss Duke Basketball’s upcoming game against Bellarmine and the fact that the game against the Elon Phoenix is now canceled due to coronavirus protocols within the Elon program. We preview Bellarmine and what we’re looking for the Blue Devils to do to get back on track.
Finally, Duke Football is back this weekend against the Miami Hurricanes instead of the Florida State Seminoles, so we see how Duke can pull off the upset against a Miami squad that has aspirations of making the ACC Championship Game. We end with an interesting note from Jason about Duke and dog names.

#255 - The season has started!
You can hear the excitement in our voices as Duke basketball returns to the court for the crazy, wild, unpredictable 2020-2021 season. Jason, Sam, and Donald loved some of the freshman performances against Coppin State, but there were many sources of concern too. What was up with all those turnovers? Coach K had a theory and we talk a bit about it.
Plus, we look ahead to the game against Michigan State, a team that we seem to play every year. No Cassius Winston this time for the Spartans, but they will be bringing some strong interior players to Durham.
Then, we chat a bit about another frustrating loss for the football team. Sigh... Ga Tech made plenty of mistakes, but Duke made more... a lot more. You won't want to miss it as we compare Duke's mistakes to the number of pieces of pie eaten by the DBR crew this Thanksgiving week.
And it all wraps up with the player of the week... you get three guesses who we picked and the first two don't count.

#254 - Postponements throughout college basketball
On this pre-Thanksgiving episode of the Duke Basketball Report Podcast, the guys talk about the fallout from Duke's opening game against Gardner Webb being disrupted by coronavirus. We will broadly about all of the cancelations and postponements around the country just as the season was getting ready to tip off this week. Will schools abandon non-conference games entirely? Will conferences scramble to create bubbles so they can play conference games without worrying about the virus? We dive into all of it as we have throughout this long and painful offseason.
After the break, we discuss the ramifications for the ACC Tournament being moved to Greensboro, and Sam shares a depressing story to remind us that time is undefeated.
We wrap up this episode giving thanks, as is custom at this time of year, for everything from Duke fans to Duke administration to Duke's commitment to social justice.
Come hang out with us on the DBR forum, rate and review the podcast, and email us at dbrpodcast at gmail.com. We'll be back whenever Duke gets around to playing a basketball game.
