They look at where Dereck Lively and Dariq Whitehead ended up and if those teams need them now or will bring the newest Dukies in the NBA along slowly. After a commercial break, the podcast gang laments the departure of Amile Jefferson, headed from the Duke bench to the NBA's Boston Celtics, and they take some guesses at who might be the next assistant coach in Durham. ESPN draft analyst and Duke legend Jay Bilas joins the Duke Basketball Roundup for a pair of episodes to look at the draft prospects of a pair of Dukies this year. In part 1, Jay talks to us about Dariq Whitehead and how he can stand out among a whole lot of mid-sized wings who are hoping to go in the middle of the first round of the NBA draft on Thursday. And while we have Jay joining us, we could not resist talking about the decisions by Flip, Proctor, Mitchell, and Roach to reject the siren song of the NBA and come back to Duke for another season. The Duke roster got a new addition with Stanford transfer Neil Begovich and while he projects as a practice player, his transfer presents a golden opportunity for the Duke Basketball Roundup gang to chat about Duke's amazing success at holding onto players this off-season.
