Patricia Karpas - The Untangle 2020 Top Five and a Meditation to Welcome 2021
Each year we like to reflect on the top five things we’ve learned from our wise and inspiring Untangle guests.
This year has been unusually hard to navigate, so our guests have focused on helping us to stay more grounded and they have inspired us to learn new ways to care for ourselves and our families. 2020 has also underscored the importance of cultivating our internal resources…which give us the tools we need to control the things we can, in fact, control.
We hope that as we close out 2020…and look forward to 2021, we’re feeling more introspective than isolated and we hope that we’re even feeling a little more connected to what is most meaningful in our lives...
We framed the top five as questions so we can keep reflecting on these together. We would love to hear what you’ve learned this year and what has sparked your curiosity, so please send in your thoughts to untangle@choosemuse.com.
We at Untangle, are wishing you much health and happiness in the coming year. We hope that all your connections are meaningful…and that you are surrounded by loved ones who help you to flourish and to be your best self, despite the unexpected circumstances we all inevitably face. And…we wish you love and equanimity.

Shannon Harvey - Living Mindfully: What Happens When You Meditate Every Day for a Full Year?
Shannon Harvey is an award-winning Australian health journalist, author, and filmmaker. In her film (and now a book, My Year of Living Mindfully), Shannon committed to meditating every day for 365 days. She enlisted a team of top scientists from around the world to track everything from her stress hormones to her immune function to her cellular aging and gene expression to her subjective wellbeing.
Overwhelmed with insomnia, autoimmune disease, and a family history of mental health issues, Shannon
was highly motivated to find a way to address the challenges she faced, and those we all face with the growing epidemics of stress, anxiety, depression, and addiction. The results were surprising! She hopes that the film will spark meaningful conversations and help all of us feel more grounded and calm as we face the inevitable challenges of being human.
