We all have access to the covering of the Most High God but we must accept being covered. Our protection comes from proximity to God. We need more than a scripture every Sunday or listening to our favorite Christian artist when times get hard. Pastor Mike teaches us that there is shelter under the Most High God. Have you ever been in a place of believing God for a miracle? Miracles do not have a formula, they simply require faith! In order to have faith, we must have hope. Because miracles start with hope, the enemy tries his best to discourage us in that area. Worship is our love expressed to God as a response to His grace towards us. In the first week of our Worship on the Word series, Pastor Mike helps us understand that worship is more than a slow song; it’s about our hearts and how we live our life. Pastor Tim Ross walks us through the story of the prodigal son. Sometimes being numb to your current reality can cause you to make decisions that are outside of God’s will. While the youngest son was outside of his father’s presence, he squandered his money and found himself working amongst pigs. Sin always takes you farther than you planned. In the midst of being in the pig stye, the youngest son came to his senses. In repentance, he ran back to his father’s house and was greeted with a party only to be met by a brother who was numb himself. What this message teaches us is that there can be 2 extremes of being numb - for some of us, we have sinned and can come back to our senses, for others we have to be careful to not allow our outward “perfection” to make us numb to our inward imperfections.Scripture References:Luke 15:11 - 32 NLT

There are times in our walk with God when we can become numb and we lose the sensation and sensitivity of God in our hearts. There’s nothing good that comes from numbness; outside culture can influence your inside character, it’s hard to discern good from bad, and compromise can happen when you lose feeling.Once we remove the noise and the gods we may have created, we will see that God has been speaking the entire time.
