In this episode, the trio chats with Morgan Wallace, the Nurse Practitioner you may have seen on a viral video last week as she testified before a school board about the mask mandates. She shares how giving up her career, even a promotion, has redirected her from being a practitioner who treats to ALSO one who helps prevent disease. But she also shares some (not all--some has to wait) of her insider's perspective in a hospital where she witnessed how politics and protocols have been detrimental to patients.

The trio thought they would start 2021 off on the right healthy foot with an interview with Dr. Weston "Wiggy" Saunders, MD, and his wife, Emily, as they share their insights into the state of the broken healthcare system and what they (along with others) are doing to help change it. Dr. Wiggy is board certified in family medicine, and in his integrative medical practice, he and his partners have successfully treated thousands over the course of the pandemic, not losing a single patient. Emily has spearheaded the creation of NC Physicians For Freedom, a network of physicians, advanced practice providers, dentists, chiropractors, pharmacists and scientists working to drive changes to the healthcare system. Their firsthand insight into this health crisis and the state of our system is NOT to be missed, and it needs to be shared.

The trio is joined by a guest they have been wanting to interview for months. Dr. Cammy. Benton is a family physician who has treated everyone--from infants to elderly patients. She is a patient-focused physician who believes doctors are teachers who serve to ensure their patients do not have to keep seeing them but can find optimal health for themselves. Her personal experiences as both a patient AND as a parent of patients opened her eyes to the state of the current medical system in America. Serving both her existing patients and more as a telemedicine physician during the pandemic has given her a wealth of insight and experience, facts and data, that we are SO grateful she is willing to share. What she has seen, studied, researched, and learned are things ALL of us need to know. She will challenge your inherent bias, make you confront your cognitive dissonance, and make us all just think....and then tell everyone we know what we are learning from her and so many physicians like her.
