Manuela Cardenas and Rodrigo Rodriguez on Colombian Ultimate and Dancing! | Pod Practice | Ep 19
Manu and Roddy stop by Mikey's house to tell the Pod about ultimate in Colombia, playing in the US vs Colombia, and the importance of gaining new perspectives in new settings.
American players have dominated the sport since its inception, but Manu, and her twin sister, Valeria are arguably the two best players in the sport today. Roddy played his first season in the AUDL with the Colorado Summit, and is now a captain of Fungi. American teams have a reputation of playing with rigid structure and take the sport very seriously. Both Manu and Roddy bring a joyful spirit to their American teams and pride themselves are playing freely.

Ari Nelson on Mental Illness in Team Sports | Pod Practice | Ep 18
Ari Nelson is pursuing their EdS in School Psychology and has been dealing with Mental Illness their whole life. In team sports we often ask and sometimes require our teammates to fit a certain mold, to buy-in, to always put the team first, or to always be positive. On almost every episode we talk about how important team culture is to a team's success. In fact, we often say it is the only important part of the team. The balance between "supporting your teammates" and "team first" isn't always black and white. At times we may be overlooking the strengths an individual can bring to a team when we focus on their negatives. Ari offers the perspective of being a teammate who doesn't always fit that mold, and insight on how we can still tap into their strengths.
