Weekly Horoscope 10/20/23: Stellium in Libra
Hope you’re doing well.
It’s been an interesting week for a lot of people. The eclipse season can be intense, disruptive and disorienting. It can also be hugely transformational, clarifying and open up a world of new possibilities. I’ll share how you can best work with this transformational time based on your unique birth chart.
Any transit can have positive, negative or neutral expression, just like every atom in your body has this potential in it’s proton, electron and neutron. When you notice the negative arising, you can begin to make choices more in alignment with your intended outcomes.
One of the unique energies present right now is that in the Hindu tradition, we’re in the Navaratri festival, honoring 9 forms of goddesses over 9 nights. A favorable time for slowing down, resting if possible, and honoring your unique rhythms and cycles.
This also aligns with the stellium in Libra happening now. This is the most influential transit this week, leading up to the next Eclipse. Stellium of Mars, Mercury, Sun and Ketu in Libra (Oct 18 - Nov 5)

New Moon Eclipse in Chitra, Friday The 13th & The Libra Stellium
It’s Friday the 13th and for whatever reason that date has a lot of superstition and fear associated with it. None of it has to do with Vedic Astrology, but because we are talking about important dates, I want to address this here. I'll share some of the origins of the superstition around the date.
With that out of the way, lets talk about something that is generally considered inauspicious in the Vedic tradition, and that is the day of the eclipse.
Here is what the Rig Veda (c. 1750BCE) says about eclipses:
“When the moon lighted by the sun affects the sun with the darkness of its shadow, when it is in line with the sun and earth, then the person who does not know his area feels confused during the eclipse and the regions too appear confusing. Similarly, O sun, light of the spirit, when the veil of darkness covers knowledge and awareness of the spirit, then the ignorant man feels confused, and the world too appears different, that is, the material appears as ultimate reality and the spirit is eclipsed. He makes no distinction between body and soul.”
- Rig Veda 5.40.5
The eclipses happen every 6 months and mark a turning point in the year, a new turn in the story of your life. It can be helpful to go back to April 20th to May 5th of this year to reflect on what you were going through then, what has evolved from that, and explore what the next evolution is that’s happening now over the next 4 weeks.
Sat, Oct 14 - New Moon / Eclipse in Chittra
+ Opportunities for new beginnings and creative endeavors.
+ Potential for fresh insights and inventive thinking.
+ A chance to make a significant impact through creative expression.
- Risk of impulsive decisions or lack of follow-through.
- Tendency to overidealize situations, leading to disappointment.
- Potential for conflicts related to creative differences.
Tue, Oct 17 - Venus in Purvaphalguni (13 Days)
Tue, Oct 17 - Sun in Libra (30 Days)
Wed, Oct 18 - Mercury in Libra (19 Days)
Sun, Oct 22 - Mercury in Swati (8 Days)

Solar Eclipse For All 12 Signs: A Major Portal For Personal Growth
The eclipse season is the 6-week cycle that happens every 6 months around the solar and lunar eclipses. You can think of these 6 weeks as the conclusion of the story of your past 6 months, and the beginning of your next 6-month cycle. The last eclipses were on April 20th and May 5th. This time is bringing a close to those lessons and the beginning of your next 6 months.
This Eclipse takes place in Chitra Nakshatra. According to Vedic mythology, Chitra is personified as a celestial architect and painter named Vishvakarma, the divine craftsman of the gods, responsible for creating the heavenly palaces, chariots, and weapons for the Devas (celestial beings). Vishvakarma was a creative genius. He designed and built magnificent palaces for the gods, adorned with intricate, beautiful artwork, sculptures, and decorations. One of Vishvakarma's most renowned creations was the chariot for Lord Surya, the Sun God.
Individuals with Chitra nakshatra strong in their chart, or in transits, have an inclination toward the arts, design, and aesthetics. They are creative visionaries, architects, artists, and crafty, with the ability to bring beauty into the world.
This Nakshatra is in both Virgo and Libra and throughout the year I have been talking about this Eclipse being in Virgo, but last week I made a mistake in my calculations and said it was in Libra, along with the big stellium happening there this month. The Eclipse is close to the cusp, but it is still in Virgo, putting more emphasis on the need for healing, health and discernment in this transit.
Look at this transit from both your Rising and Moon sign in Vedic Astrology to see how it will affect you. More details on the new podcast.

October 2023: Into The Unknown of Eclipse Season
Welcome to Eclipse Season 2!
Every 6 months we go through a collective ‘portal’ to a new chapter of life with the solar and lunar eclipses.
Often, major life decisions need to be made around these dates that effect all of the 4 aims of life; health, wealth, relationships and purpose.
This week I’ll share about the big picture, collective energies, and next week I’ll share sign by sign horoscopes so you can get more personal guidance about how to best navigate this time.
If you want to go deep into your astrology studies, this is a great month to do any sort of deep research, study or learning.
On Monday the next class of the Vedic Astrology Mentorship begins and everyone in the class is super excited to begin! It’s soooo fun!
This past week enrollment closed for the 2023 Mentorship, but because I caught a very intense and sudden illness (more on this on the podcast), I wasn’t able to share about the program as much as I intended to while enrollment was open. I know some people missed the enrollment period who wanted to join but just didn’t hear about it in time. So i’m extending a special invitation, if you are interested in joining the Mentorship, email me asap! I can welcome 1 or 2 more people in before Sunday night, so you’re ready to go by Monday. Just reply to this email if you’re interested and want to know more.

Sat, Sep 23 - Autumnal Equinox
The yin and yang qualities are equal on this day. A day to pause and reflect in stillness between the natural cycle of expansion and contraction that is all throughout nature. Nadi Shodhana is a great practice to cleanse your energy channels and balance the yin and yang qualities within yourself. This gives you greater access to the appropriate amount of effort and ease, movement and stillness, energy out and energy in, as needed in your life. In the Northern Hemisphere we begin the descent into longer nights and shorter days. A time for letting go, releasing and introspection so you can more closely connect with your true self and what matters most to you.

Jupiter Retrograde For All Signs (Sep - Dec)
As we enter September 2023, I’ve heard from so many people going through challenging times lately. In August, I focused on doing some deep emotional work and have found it greatly healing. The month began and end with a Full Moon and also the news of two losses in my personal life. A childhood friend, and an uncle who helped raise me, as I didn’t grow up with a father. These have both lead to more emotional connection among family and friends, and it has been a beautiful reminder to appreciate life and the people in our lives while we’re here.
I began studying astrology in my youth because it was fascinating to think that there is some greater purpose or meaning to life. I have always been interested in what makes people tick, what motivates them, what inspires them, what they feel called to do. It has been beautiful to talk with friends and family about how each of these people who recently passed lived such authentic, honest lives. They were passionate about the things they valued and left a lasting impression on the people close to them. They had their ups and downs, as we all do, but they were true to themselves. I’m grateful to have known them and learned from them.
I’m grateful that we all get to be alive exploring this question of how we can live more in alignment, more authentic to ourselves, more in service to others. These questions are endlessly inspiring and fascinating to me. I hope that by sharing these horoscopes and podcasts that you gain some insight into yourself, your gifts, your ups and downs, and how you can better serve others. I feel honored and grateful every day that I get to do this work.
If you want to go deeper into your own astrology studies I’ll be hosting a special event on Sat, Sep 16th Click here to join the Mentorship waitlist and learn more.

September 2023: Clear The Way For Eclipse Season
We’re in the final week of August 2023, working through some of the most deeply transformational transits of the year. This is all paving the way for a completely new chapter coming in October 2023, but the deep work to get there is happening now and throughout September.
With 6 planets retrograde now and all throughout September, this is the best time of 2023 for all the “re” activities.

It’s not the best time for starting totally new things. You’ll likely have to re-do them and have unforeseen issues to address. You can do it, but expect delays and setbacks. This improves greatly after Sep 15th, especially if it involves continuing along a path you’ve been on for a while, including Astrology. This is why on Sep 16th I’ll be hosting a special event to help you learn astrology and how to read your chart. Click here to join the Mentorship waitlist and learn more!
Until Sep 15th:
Return to old music, movies, art, friends, activities, places, hobbies, interests that you love.
Clean out your computer, phone, closets, drawers, and anywhere else things have piled up.
Essentially, defragment your life! This is creating a lot of spaciousness for the big turning point coming in October.

Major Breakthroughs: Mercury Retrograde for All Signs (Aug - Sep)
This is one of my favorite transits!
In addition to Saturn, Venus, Neptune and Pluto all being retrograde, now Mercury joins the party.
This is one of the best times of the year for slowing down, reflecting and doing regular meditation practice. Check out the free Quietmind Yoga podcast for guided meditations.
Last week I attended a beautiful retreat in Mexico where the message to me was very clearly about slowing down. Even on my first day, I drove the road I normally take to town, but for the first time ever there was a major traffic jam. This never happens in this small village, but there I was behind dozens of cars, trucks and motorcycles, having to slow down. Thankfully, I left very early, so I was still early to class. This was the first of many experiences like this where the message was clearly to slow down. We did mindful eating practices, long meditations, long eye gazing, and time in noble silence each day. These all happen to be great practices to do during all this retrograde energy, and it felt like exactly where I needed to be.
You can find these qualities in anything you do, anywhere you go. You can pause before beginning a meal. Take a moment to smell the food. Take a moment to pause before getting on your devices and set an intention for your time.
I actually love these retrograde times because they give us a chance to practice svadyaya - self reflection - which is part of the 8 limbs of yoga. I grew up in poverty with no resources and have been fortunate to create a life I love, and I can attribute most of that growth to the practice of self reflection and self study, and now is one of the best times of 2023 for that kind of work.
Listen to the new Quietmind Astrology Podcast for interpretations for each sign. Listen for your rising AND moon sign - from Vedic only. This does not apply to Western/Tropical astrology.
Wed, Aug 23 - Mercury Retrograde (21 Days)
