#257 - Ian Smith - New Jersey Gym Owner Has Defied Governors Unconstitutional Orders To Close His Gym & Now Has Over 1 Million In Fines
Guest Bio:In the past 10 months, we have built something truly special. The Atilis Gym of Bellmawr went from a struggling location with just over 100 active members to a booming community of more than 700. That community was built on the premise of hard work, all-inclusiveness, care for one another, and the positive energy of each person who walks through the door. This community is home to so many people in New Jersey, PA, and the surrounding areas. Just like many who have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, The Atilis Community was forced to shut it's doors indefinitely on March 16th. Upon shutdown, the government made promises about grant money and forgivable loans made easily available for small businesses to be able to pay bills during the forced shutdown. However, because Atilis Bellmawr has not been in operation for a full-year and does not have a full-time staff, we do not qualify for any bailout money from the government. In addition, our landlord and other service providers are not providing any additional relief to offset the effects of the shutdown. We have suspended all billing to ensure that the members of the community were not held responsible for paying dues when they were mandated to stay home. The community of Atilis Bellmawr is humbling asking our members and guests, friends and family, and all of the incredible people who make up that community to come together and donate to help keep our doors open, our music loud, and our barbells bending. Please considering donating today. All funds raised will go to pay rent, utilities, and other bills during the economic shutdown. Any money that is left over from fundraising will be donated back into the community when we reopen with some donations of our own to others who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.Please share this campaign with your friends and family, we truly appreciate every bit of support.
