Ester did not get a chance to see what was inside the book before the candle blew out. When she gets up, after a sleepless night, she decides to put the book in her bag and try to find time during the day to look at it. It isn’t until after school, on her way home, that she gets a chance to open the book. She takes the right side of the fork again and sits in the clearing and opens the book to see what is inside. The Kite that went to the Moon is a two part story. In the first part Jerry is so excited to fly his kite. He runs to the park in the middle of the village and calls everyone to come and watch him. Jerry tells them his kite is going to fly all the way to the moon. When his kite won’t stay up in the air, Jerry gets upset and runs off. He heads back to the school to find Chloe who painted the moon and stars on his kite but she is still working on her math.
