119 – What doctors can learn from business mogul Dame Dash

SEND US A TEXT MESSAGE!!! Let Drs. Nii & Renee know what you think about the show! What’s good everyone! Dr. Renee is joining me on this episode. I decided to shake things up a bit and discuss something controversial. Damon “Dame” Dash is an American entrepreneur, record executive, film producer and is best known for co-founding Roc-A-Fella records. For a significant time, he served as Jay-Z’s manager and business partner. Several years ago, Dame Dash came on the popular radio talk show The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 to discuss a new movie. To anyone who isn’t familiar with the talk show, it’s not your typical morning show and if you’re a guest, you definitely can’t prepare for the questions you will face on the show. Let’s just say it turned into a heated talk about employment versus entrepreneurship and other things you should listen to in your home and not at work. On this episode, Dr. Renee and I break down this conversation for you from a doctor’s perspective. There are mad nuggets that Dame drops about employment that we think you all can learn from and we go through each one by one. His thoughts are controversial, but this is Docs Outside the Box - and that’s what we do! SEND US A TEXT MESSAGE!!! Let Drs. Nii & Renee know what you think about the show! What’s good everyone! My next guest is Dr. Nikki Ramskill – the personality behind the blog “The Female Money Doctor.” There aren’t as many physicians in the United Kingdom blogging about personal finance as in America, but her claim to fame is being the “first ever doctor in the UK to be blogging about money.” The blog has become popular in the UK and focuses on the money stresses that her patients suffer from. She comes off as relatable as she shares her journey through student loan debt, investing, and breaking the cycle of living paycheck to paycheck. On this episode, we’re going to learn more about the woman behind the blog. For example, what’s her personal approach to debt, and the mindset changes it took for her to change specialties from OB/GYN to being a General Practitioner.   Resources mentioned in this episode: Ann Wilson – The Wealthy Chef Curve Card You Need a Budget
