035 - What it takes to make visible change is often invisible, Dr. Ryan DeBell, The Movement Fix
Dr. DeBell is a self described adult who has a formal education in chiropractic. He refuses to identify himself as a profession, he prefers to think of himself as the sum of life experience applied (a thought process I relate to). Dr. DeBell travels the country delivering workshops at an unbelievable clip of 30+ per year. He has created digital continuing education content for athletes and coaches, and in this workshop we talk very casually about everything from how to maintain a successful marriage with such a crazy travel schedule to how an athlete can better prioritize their training. This was an enjoyable episode to record and we will most definitely be doing another one in the future. Enjoy! 031 - Welcome to your first day of class at Squat University, Dr. Aaron Horschig, Squat University
Dr. Horschig is a physical therapist, a weightlifter, and the author of “The Squat Bible”. The massive growth of his social media account is just one way to quickly recognize that Dr. Horschig is delivering valuable content that people need to hear. In this episode we talk about topics like where your feet should be during a squat, how to design your program, when pain is a problem, and many other topics, my favorite of which was “squat shaming” and how you can avoid being a victim or a bully as it pertains to the topic. 030 - Never Become Your Diagnosis
We're back from our CrossFit Games break. A diagnosis is great because it can drive an intervention. A diagnosis can also be a disaster for people who begin to identify as their set of symptoms. In this episode I talk about taking off the bubble wrap and getting back to enjoying your life. We can be found at: @activeliferx www.PerformanceCareRx.com www.youtube.com/theactivelife

029 - Be precise about the stress you put on your body, Max El-Hag, Training Think Tank
Many people would look at the opportunity to take on elite CrossFit athletes with high exposure as a chance to boost their career. Max looks at it as a privilege and a responsibility. Coach to Noah Ohlsen, Travis Mayer, and many others, business owner, and staff developer are just a few of the hats that Max wears. I found Max by stumbling onto his content on the Training Think Tank youtube channel and I was immediately drawn in. I found myself breaking out a pad and a pen to take notes and learn. This man is smart, humble, and passionate. In this episode he provides practical advice to new and experienced coaches and athletes. There is truly something in it for everyone who takes fitness seriously. 027 - Movement as medicine, Dr. Jen Esquer, @docjenfit
Dr. Jen Esquer is the movement yin to the movement yang that is Active Life. She influences health for her patients by managing body, mind, and especially movement for her patients. Jen decided not to go with the flow and work in an uninspiring clinic where she did not feel like she could best serve her patients. Working in a virtual think tank, Jen has been able to influence and be influenced by yoga instructors, pilates instructors, track athletes, strength coaches, and others to adapt and progress her treatment practice. This episode is especially interesting because of the approachable nature that Dr. Esquer can demonstrate while at the same time delivering information with confidence, assertion, and effectiveness. We can all learn something from Dr. Esquer, I’m sure you will. Dr. Esquer can be found at: @docjenfit www.docjenfit.com We can be found at: @activeliferx www.performancecarerx.com
