Today's Scripture: Proverbs 16:1-3, 9, 25, 33 The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Vs. 9 - The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Vs. 25 - There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. Douglas (Doug) Wilson is sadly, a controversial figure in modern Evangelical circles. I say "sadly" because his heart beats Bible and his zeal is for the Lord to be honored. Any differences of interpretation or opinion should be graciously viewed in that light by all Christ-followers. Again, sadly, this isn't the case. In my opinion this is because he's willing to say what the Bible says even when it's not culturally "correct" or socially palatable. You'll see that he's seldom represented fairly when you do. You can also find many interviews OTHERS have done with Doug and published on their channels. Search his name in YT and you'll find loads. Canon PressCP is the Publishing house where Doug's writings and other helpful resources are published. Doug is at least partly responsible for the running of CP. Christ Church, Moscow, IdahoThis is the local, small-ish-town church where Doug pastors. He's pastored there for its entire history. The church is growing rapidly due to many who are moving from larger communities in an effort to find a more balanced, sane place to live and raise a family. Vs. 8-9 - The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him. The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but he loves him who pursues righteousness. Vs. 10 - There is severe discipline for him who forsakes the way; whoever hates reproof will die. Vs. 12 - A scoffer does not like to be reproved; he will not go to the wise.
