In this episode of 15:14, Curtis Solomon interviews author Molly Bertles about her recent book, You are Not Alone: Biblical Counsel for Women Struggling with Masturbation. Molly shares her heart for addressing a topic that is often hidden in shame and silence.
Together, Curtis and Molly discuss why this struggle is more common than many realize, how secrecy and isolation deepen the battle, and how Scripture offers real hope and practical help. Molly explains the purpose of her book, the pastoral and biblical framework behind it, and how counselors, churches, and friends can come alongside women with truth, compassion, and grace.

Salem Heights Church
In this episode of 15:14, our guest, Pastor Pete Potloff, shares about the history, significance, and impact of biblical counseling at Salem Heights Church, in the city of Salem, and across the Pacific Northwest. Salem Heights Church is a gospel-centered church located in Salem, Oregon. The church exists to make the gospel relevant for the pleasure of God and the good of its neighbors. Three phrases summarize its heart: Love God. Love Others. Reach the World.
Pete Potloff is a teaching pastor who also oversees the biblical counseling ministry at Salem Heights Church. He began attending the church in 1999 while in college and joined the staff in 2015. In December 2019, he was called to the role of Executive Pastor. Pete and his wife, Holly, were married at Salem Heights in 2001 and have three children.

The Sentinel Institute
This episode of 15:14 features Laken’s interview with Dr. Curtis Solomon about his new endeavor, The Sentinel Institute. Dr. Solomon is the founder and executive director of the Institute, which provides truth-tested trauma care for those impacted by trauma. He is the retiring director of the BCC and currently serves as Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for Biblical Counseling at Boyce College. He also lectures and trains future counselors as a visiting professor at other academic institutions.

Jared Poulton & IRBC
Jared Poulton is our guest on this episode of 15:14. We are excited to have Jared share about the ministry he leads, the Institute for Reformed Biblical Counseling (IRBC). IRBC’s mission is, “Advancing Reformed biblical counseling through training and certifying counselors and supporting Reformed churches in their church-based discipleship ministries.”
In addition to Jared serving as Executive Director of the Institute for Reformed Biblical Counseling, he is the pastor of counseling and teaching at Cornerstone URC, and visiting professor of biblical counseling at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary. He holds a PhD in biblical counseling from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His writing has been published at the Biblical Counseling Coalition, the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, and the London Lyceum.
Jared lives in Hudsonville, Michigan, with his wife and four children. When he is not working, Jared enjoys exploring the beautiful state of Michigan with his family.

On this episode of 15:14, Dr. Solomon interviews Chris Philips, Founder and Executive Director of Selah International Christian Ministries, to learn more about Selah and how it supports the global church. Selah serves pastors, missionaries, and other Christian ministry leaders through a variety of ministry outlets. Chris and his wife, Dawn, have over 35 years of ministry experience as missionaries and in pastoral ministry. They are also certified biblical counselors, and Chris is completing his doctorate in Biblical Counseling. Together, they bring wisdom from that experience to the various ministries Selah offers, including counseling intensives, missionary debriefs, and Selah Soul Care Conferences.

Suicide Intervention with Shauna Van Dyke
In this episode of 15:14, Shauna Van Dyke joins us to discuss how we can intervene when someone shares their thoughts of committing suicide. Shauna is a Member of the BCC Council and serves as Executive Director of The Association of Biblical Counselors. She is a certified biblical counselor who founded Truth Renewed, a ministry that provides free biblical counseling to the community. Shauna enjoys speaking at women’s events, is the writer of The Everyday Counselor, and hosts a podcast called Speak the Truth. She is married to Michael and has two sons, Dustin and Jaxson.
