1280: Semester at Sea with Scott Marshall

LifeBlood NURTURE: We talked about a semester at sea, how the program works, the potential lifelong benefits of participating in it, and how it’s possible to take part even if you’re not an undergraduate student! We discussed Scott’s childhood experiences, how he got the opportunity to study abroad and the impact that had on his life, how he found his way from being a Professor to leading a study abroad company, and the role perspective plays in his life. We talked about the potential impacts that an experience seeing different countries and interacting with different people has on a young person, how it’s a unique time to have experiences like this, and the profound impact it can have. We discussed the comparative nature of the program, how one gets to immerse themself in a new culture, then reflect, talk and learn from peers before getting to go and have a similar experience in a different part of the world, and to get to do this in a lot of different countries. 1277: EdTech with Chris Hull

LifeBlood NURTURE: We talked about an EdTech platform that centralizes learning for the sake of helping kids flourish, enjoy learning and improving personalized learning and educational continuity.  We discussed Chris’ experience as a teacher responsible for over 150 students and the challenges and frustrations of everything outside of simply teaching the kids that was required, and how there wasn’t one place to make it all happen, which led to the founding of his company.
