A short and sweet podcast for you this Friday as Ali is about to take a break, but not before announcing a host of great interviews for you to enjoy. Here though, he talks about The Big Short, as well as the biggest movie news stories of the week (as well as a little bit on the PS5 announcement). And just so you know now, it's Short Term 12 as the next film club choice, up in a fortnight's time!

The US Office veterans Steve Carell and Greg Daniels have reunited for a new Netflix sitcom called Space Force, bringing along a whole host of comedy talent with them, including Sonic himself, Ben Schwartz, as well as John Malkovich and Lisa Kudrow. On this interview special, they all speak to Ali (minus Steve, he was busy last minute) about how they put the show together.

On this week's Friday episode of Radio 1's Screen Time, Clarisse Loughrey is back to talk through the best 21st century Westerns as well as this week's 'Ali Plumb's Film Club' choice, Prisoners. (Next week's will be The Big Short, by the way!) Plus, Kristen Bell and Josh Gad, the stars of Frozen and now this new Apple TV animated comedy musical show 'Central Park' talk sandwiches, embarrassing celebrity interactions and, you know, their new show.

Jodie Whittaker is... The Doctor. She's also our very special guest in this archive interview, all about how she became everyone's favourite Time Lord. You'll hear her telling Ali about the biggest roles in her career before she picked up the sonic screwdriver, including Attack The Block and Venus (with Peter O'Toole), as well as what it means to her to meet fans and attend all those comic-cons. Our guest for Ali Plumb's Film Club this week is friend of the podcast Clarisse Loughrey, talking about this week's pick, indie horror It Follows. Plus, Ali talks us through his top five 21st century horrors and podcast newcomer Karen Han (of Polygon fame) pops by to tell us which Hollywood types are actually worth following on social media.

Jaws. You may have heard of it. Very good film, well worth a watch. Ahem. Oh, and next's week's 'homework' is It Follows, an indie horror film you genuinely may not have seen before...

Ali and Ace sit down to talk through their thoughts on the very first Star Wars live-action TV show, The Mandalorian, in this spoiler special. So if you haven't seen the Disney+ show, maybe give this one a swerve... unless you desperately want to hear two fully-grown chatting about Baby Yoda far too much, in which case, fill your boots!

After a nasty cycling accident, Ali is back back back to talk about the latest movie news with Ace. Also, he runs down his top five favourite 21st century heist movies and we open up The Continental hotel for Ali Plumb's Film Club as John Wick comes under the hammer. Oh, and here's your homework for next week: Jaws - (cue loud strings!).

You may well know him already for The Raid and The Raid 2, but now he's back with a new big Sky Original / NowTV small screen series, Gangs Of London, you'll probably know him for that. In this interview special, Ali speaks to Gareth about putting together his new bold, brutal and bloody crime drama, as well as talking through some of his favourite action films of all time.
