Prior to his work with incarcerated men, he spent years working with sexual abuse Survivors, and treating Severely Emotionally Disturbed adolescents in group homes and within the largest intensive psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility for troubled youth west of the MIssissippi. Jon’s recurring spot on ‘The Imagination’ has been so incredibly valuable and so many of you have reached out saying how much you value the information he’s been providing. The therapeutic element is a giant piece of the puzzle as we have to have helpers willing to step in and help survivors both understand what they went through and how to heal it. Unfortunately, as you all have heard countless times on this show, getting proper help for something like dissociative identity disorder or finding someone willing to accept that things like satanic ritual abuse exists can be harder than it should be. Being newer to understanding SRA, Bruce was one of the first men I had heard speaking out on SRA and the details he courageously revealed about SRA helped further my understanding of this horrific type of abuse and lit a fire underneath me. Bruce was born in the small town of Sanduski, Ohio on Lake Erie to a generational occult-based family and like many survivors who have spoken out on this podcast, memories of his abuse and the truth of his life weren’t obvious until later in his life. After remembering a string of events he experienced as a child, he eventually remembered how he was abducted at 12 years old on the date of September 5th and taken to a ritual called ‘The Feast and Marriage to the Beast’ which he is going to outline in detail for us today. This ritual has not been covered yet on this podcast so if you’ve never heard of this ritual, we will all get to learn about it today together. Bruce shares intimate details about his ritual abuse as a way to convey to the listener the experience of shock and trauma that survivors experience. He believes it’s the only way anyone can intercede to help in that they can fully understand the depths and levels of evil that these perpetraitors inflict on their victims. But amidst the horror of Bruce’s childhood, there’s also a beautiful duality woven into his story that you’ll find extreme inspiration from - and that is his walk with God and how God rescued him from the horrors he experienced as a child. In addition to discussing all this, Bruce will also be spilling the tea about the occult network in Sanduski along with the area he’s currently living in now. To me, Bruce is an inspiration on every level. He decided to speak out not because he wanted to or because it’s easy to, but because he knew his story had the opportunity to make an impact in the world and in the lives of others. I can say from experience that his testimony made a tremendous impact on me and I can’t thank Bruce enough for his courage to share. It’s an honor anytime we get to hear a survivor speak and I know you will all experience the same inspiration I felt when I heard him share his testimony. Send me a DM here (it doesn't let me respond), OR email me: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.comToday I’m honored to have back on the show: former guest, translator, former therapist, entrepreneur, survivor, overcomer, visionary, and another spectacular male survivor speaking up to share his story: Israel Sykes!The first time Israel was on, he was joined by Israeli survivor, Nechama Te’ema and he was not only an incredible support system for Nechama, but he made that interview possible by also helping translate Nechama’s story so it could be heard in English. That episode was one of the most ground-breaking interviews I’ve had the opportunity to do as a podcast host and I can’t thank Israel enough for making that interview possible!Born in Baltimore, Israel dealt with both bi-polar disorder and child sexual abuse in his life which resulted in him on the spectrum of dissociative disorders. After not finding therapists who were able to identify either of these issues and help him heal, and having been trained himself as a family therapist, I developed my own healing method based on automatic drawing and the deliberate taking back of projections - and through this process his unconscious shared with him many incidents of abuse. He has so far discovered that none of these instances were in his family, but has a range of other setting where abuse took place including a synagogue, Hebrew school, boat trip to Israel, and a summer camp in Israel. He believes he is being protected from uncovering additional layers.In Israel’s training, there was no mention of dissociative disorders, and MPD was considered so rare that students were unlikely to meet such a client. After numerous MPD clients came his way, he found them to be amazing - and in meeting the challenges they posed, he went through numerous transformations of his own consciousness. It was in fact this work that opened the gates to the memories of his own childhood trauma. It also led to efforts to open a recovery center that would highlight the contributions of survivors to one another's healing. It would be many years before this vision would be implemented in Israel by another survivor.For numerous reasons, Israel left the practice of therapy in 1996 and brought he insights to bear in social change work in the area of mental health and disabilities. These have been documented in numerous articles and books that he has co-authored. Over a period of over 20 years he has developed - together with a colleague named Victor Friedman, an approach to individual and social development called “Self-in-Field Action Research”. This work is grounded in the work on field theory initiated by the social science pioneer, Kurt Lewin, who died in 1947.
