Ep. 125 - Tom Lucy talks about getting into comedy at the age of 16, and tells us how he generates his ideas
This is one of a special series of short episodes speaking to some of the best comedians appearing at this year's Edinburgh Fringe! These episodes will be released daily during the week of 8 August 2022.Starting at just 16 Tom Lucy quickly rose through the comedy club circuit to became one of the youngest professional stand-up comedians in the world. As well as performing all over the UK, Tom has toured internationally in the Middle East, across Europe and a few select US shows in New York and Los Angeles. He has performed two sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival, in 2017 and 2018, picking up rave reviews and adding extra shows due to demand. In Spring 2019, Tom embarked on his first headline UK tour which included a sold out show at London’s Leicester Square Theatre. Ep. 122 - Jack Barry tells us why he became a comedian rather than a spy, and talks about the analytical process that goes into stand up

These episodes will be released daily during the week of 8 August 2022.Jack Barry is a comedy actor, writer and stand-up who can most recently be seen as series regular in Mae Martin’s sitcom Feel Good series 1&2 (Netflix) and Rose Matafeo’s Starstruck (BBC/HBO). Jack stars in the new series of ITV2's The Stand Up Sketch Show. Other recent TV credits include The Russell Howard Hour (Sky One), Dad’s Army: The Lost Episodes (Gold), Catastrophe (Channel 4/Amazon), Cuckoo (BBC Three/Netflix) and Turn Up Charlie (Netflix). Not to mention he had a brief stint gracing screens and crisp packets nationwide as the face of McCoy’s crisps for most of 2017-18. Jack has written for Mock the Week (BBC2) and one of his viral sketches Get Staffed was shortlisted for Best Comedy Short at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival and won Single Funniest Moment at the Portland Comedy Festival.A sought after live act, Jack was selected as one of eight comedy shows in the Sunday Times’ ‘Best of what’s on at the Edinburgh Festival’ and has provided tour support for comedians including Russell Howard, Marc Maron, James Acaster and Joe Lycett.We loved speaking with Jack, hearing how he made that difficult decision we all have to consider - whether to become a stand up or a spy! These episodes will be released daily during the week of 8 August 2022.Schalk Bezuidenhout was born in Kempton Park or as he calls it - 'The New York of the East Rand'. His family and friends stood back as they watched Schalk evolve from an Afrikaans conservative caterpillar into a beautiful dramaqueen butterfly, complete with a moustache and furry afro. It was obvious to Schalk's parents that he would study drama, and to help numb the pain they sent him away to study at the University of Cape Town. She also performed her show in LA at the Lyric Theatre and Improv Lab following which there was a competitive situation to develop her first comedy series for TV in the US. Adrian Tchaikovsky is the multi-award winning bestselling author of sci-fi and fantasy books such as the Children of Time series, Shadows of the Apt series and much more. He primarily explores deep themes, such as artificial intelligence and alien awareness within epic galactic and fantastical settings. He has a deep interest in the animal world specifically insects from his studies in Zoology and has a particular penchant for spiders. We loved chatting with Adrian for our first ever live episode in front of an audience at the Cymera Festival back in June.
