Ask Me Anything: Listener Q&A (with special guest co-host)
Welcome to Season 5! I’ve already recorded some amazing conversations that I can’t wait to share with you all. Be sure you’re subscribed in your favorite podcast player.
Today we’re doing something totally different; I’m a little nervous! To kick off Season 5 we’re doing a little Ask-Me-Anything Listener Questions episode. These are questions y’all emailed or sent via social media. And to help me out (and make sure I’m being real with you guys) I have my daughter, Emma, here on the mic with me.
If you’re new around here, you can meet Emma, me, and the rest of the family here.
Your Listener Questions:
What are your thoughts on dating?
I want to hear the story of how you and your husband met and fell in love!
State or Private college?
I have 3 children that I am homeschooling and I work part-time. This is our 4th year homeschooling. It has not been easy, but it is totally worth it. My question is how can I continue to keep my children engaged in their subjects while homeschooling them. They are older now, and I have to be creative as of late. How would you approach this matter?
My conversation with Jen about successfully working while homeschooling
Raising Lifelong Learners with Colleen Kessler
Your (Modern) Morning Basket: Morning Time and “Us-schooling” (an interview with Pam Barnhill)
5. What has been your favorite read aloud with your kids? And how do you structure reading books your oldest may like the best with having younger ones who may not be ready yet? Reading before bedtime separately? Or rereading when the younger one is ready? What about series?
A few of our recent favorite family read-togethers:
Book of Dragons, E. Nesbit
Stories from the Faerie Queen, Mary Macleod
Animal Farm, George Orwell
Chronicles of Narnia, C. S. Lewis

Paideia, Repentance, and Joyful Domesticity as a 2nd-Generation Homeschooler (with Melissa Cummings)
You may already know Melissa Cummings from her work coordinating the Paideia Northwest conference. Perhaps you've read her guest post over on HumilityandDoxology.com all about singing the Psalms with our little saints, or you've followed her journey learning the Psalms with her own little ones over on Instagram. But whether you know Melissa already or are meeting her for the first time today, you will love her winsome description of life as a second-generation homeschooling mom: raising her children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, repenting on repeat, and reading lots of good books together.

Finding Freedom and Fun in Homeschooling (with Dachelle McVey)
One of the best parts of homeschooling is the freedom and fun it brings! We don’t have to do things just because somebody tells us to or just because everybody else is doing it. Dachelle McVey reminds us that we have the privilege to choose what is best for our own unique families, encourage our children to take ownership of their education, and add a bit of enchantment and pixie dust along the way.

This might be the spiciest Homeschool Conversations podcast episode yet! Take a deep breath and dive into this fabulous conversation with Gina Munsey, 2nd-generation homeschooler, 3rd-culture kid, and Bringer-of-the-Truth-Bombs!
