Zelensky Says World Should be Prepared for Possibility of Nuclear Weapons
In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, President Zelensky warned that "all of the countries of the world" should be prepared for the possibility that Putin could use tactical nuclear weapons in his war on Ukraine. This, as heavy shelling takes place along much of the front line in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv, and Ukraine’s National Police report that more than 900 bodies of Ukrainian civilians have been discovered in the Kyiv region since the Russian army withdrew.
Meanwhile, investigators from almost a dozen countries have descended on Ukraine this week to comb bombed-out towns searching for evidence of war crimes. Plus, texts obtained by CNN show how Trump allies Senator Mike Lee and Representative Chip Roy soured on efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Russian Warship “Moskva” Sinks in Black Sea
On day 50 of the war in Ukraine, Russia says its warship “Moskva” has sunk; Ukraine claims it struck the flagship of Russia’s Black Sea fleet with missiles. The crew was forced to abandon the Moskva, giving the Ukrainian military a morale boost and causing embarrassment to Moscow.
A Ukraine special-operations unit destroyed a bridge near Izium, as Russian forces continue to fight to take the strategic port city of Mariupol. This, as an agreement in principle is drafted for a possible meeting between Putin and Zelensky, showing a glimmer of hope for diplomacy. Manhunt Underway After Mass Shooting in Brooklyn Subway
Ten people were shot and at least sixteen suffered injuries in a Brooklyn subway shooting this morning during rush hour. NYPD officials have identified a “person of interest”, but say at this time there is no known motive for the Brooklyn shooting.
Biden calls Putin’s invasion of Ukraine a “genocide” for the first time, as Putin says today that peace talks have reached a “dead end”, making it clear he has no intention of pulling back from his military campaign. The Pentagon warns that Russia could use chemical weapons, as Ukraine investigates over 6,000 cases of Russian war crimes. Ukrainian Authorities Prepare For Russian Reinforcements in Donbas
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warns that “ten’s of thousands” of Russian troops will launch full-scale combat actions in the east, but says, “we’re ready”.
Intense bombardments over the weekend left dozens dead or wounded as civilians continued to flee along treacherous evacuation routes. Newly released satellite images showed an eight-mile-long convoy of Russian armored vehicles and trucks with towed artillery moving east of Kharkiv, the nation’s second-largest city.
