Bite size. Cam Calkoen talks about the letter from Jeremy Wells that changed his life
Cam Calkoen was born with cerebral palsy. 20 years ago the only thing that made him happy was watching the TV show "Havoc and Newsboy." Cams mum wrote a letter to Newsboy (Jeremy Wells) and he replied. Cam STILL has that letter pinned to his wall. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Bite size (ICYMI) Cam Calkoen shares, for the first time, the story about his attempt to take his own life
Cam Calkoen was born with Cerbral palsy. This has made everything he has achieved that much more difficult than those of us born without the condition. Even though he has done thousands of hours of public speaking, in this moment from our conversation he shares, for the first time ever, the lowest point of his life where he made a spontaneous decision to try and end it all. It's raw. It's vulnerable. It's not pretty. But its 100% honest and unfiltered. Warts and all. Cam is an inspirational individual. If you like this, please listen to our full conversation. Or recommend it to a friend. Thanks, Dom Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

13: Arch Jelley
Arch (Archibald) Jelly was the career-long coach of John Walker, Olympic gold medalist and one of our best runners ever.I am so glad I got to meet Arch and now get to share this story with you.In this conversation you'll hear:What it was like living through the great depression of 1930 in Dunedin. His experiences inside submarines during WW2.The story of how he coached John Walker to be one of New Zealand’s greatest evert runners. The (rather unromantic) story of how he got with his second wife at the age of 80.His thoughts on getting a Telegram from the Queen when he turns 100 in August and much, much more. This is so much more than a running conversation- its a history lesson. Arch is a war vet and his father fought (and survived) Gallipoli in the First World War. So it seems fitting to release this episode on Monday April 25th, ANZAC day in NZ. PS: Here is a link if you want to watch John Walkers incredible 1976 Olympic race at Montreal (Arch has some great memories of this which he freely shares):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq2rb7TMx14Massive thanks to the sponsors of this episode, Em’s Power Cookies: Powercookies.com Hosted on Acast.
