Dissolving the Line Between Sacred & Secular with Fleurie
Episode 58 is one to bookmark for future reference as hosts, Brenton Miles & Libby Lewis sit down with pop artist & songwriter Fleurie! Fleurie has been writing music for years and has been involved with music as a young girl growing up in church. After spending some time in Sydney at the Hillsong International Leadership College, she realized quickly that her dreams of being a worship pastor were changing to becoming an artist, and that God had bigger plans for her outside the four walls of church. So in this episode, we talk about musical gifts, calling, and what it looks like to create outside of church world, as many musicians and songwriters in the church feel called to reach people outside of church (which we are all called to do). Fleurie (artist name) is also actively involved in serving in her local church on the worship team as well as writing songs for church. For more info, check out her music on Spotify and give her a follow on Instagram! --- Leave us a review or shoot us an e-mail if you'd like to join the conversation with Worship Online about this podcast and ways we can better help you on your journey as a worship leader & musician! How to Prevent Frustration on Your Worship Team
To kick off the new year, we're giving away an annual subscription to Worship Online for 4 lucky winners throughout the month of January! Each week, we'll be picking a winner, so be sure to do the following! 1. Leave us an iTunes Review 2. Shoot us an e-mail with your review and username on the post (send to: podcast@worshiponline.com) Then you're set! We'll be picking winners at random and will announce in the weeks to come. --- In this episode, we talk about solutions to many of the frustrations that have been sent to us over the past few months. The bottom line is, there's no perfect church, because there's no perfect people... BUT if we can all continue to encourage, celebrate, and inspire each other, it'll limit the frustrations across the board for our teams. It's super important to communicate with your team or your leaders anytime you have a frustration or see something that could be better... but communicate properly. Don't just be a complainer. Best rule of thumb is if you see a problem, have a solution or a few solutions to bring up... don't just point out the problems. --- Leave us a review or shoot us an e-mail if you'd like to join the conversation with Worship Online about this podcast and ways we can better help you on your journey as a worship leader & musician! The Reality of Anxiety in The Church
We're back with another powerful episode about overcoming anxiety, specifically within the church, our teams, and as musicians. In this episode, Jordan Holt, Libby Lewis, and Brenton Miles sit down to discuss some of their personal struggles with anxiety, overcoming fear, shame, and how replacing anxiety with truth, faith, rest, joy, and delegation can lead to freedom! There's no question, anxiety is rampant in our culture, and even in the church... but as musicians, sometimes it can seem even more overwhelming because of our direct tie to the supernatural thru art and the creative process. It's imperative that we must lean on the word of God as our foundation of truth and believe that when God says "be anxious for nothing" - He has our best interest at heart.
