Lessons from the Viasat cybersecurity attack.

A few hours prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Russia’s military intelligence launched a cyberattack against ViaSat’s KA-SAT satellite network, which was used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It prevented them from using satellite communications to respond to the invasion. After the ViaSat hack, numerous cyber operations were conducted against the space sector from both sides of the conflict. What have we learnt from the Viasat attack? Clémence Poirier has written a report on the Viasat cybersecurity attack during the war in Ukraine. Hacking the Cosmos: Cyber operations against the space sector. You can connect with Clémence Poirier on LinkedIn, and read her report on this website.Remember to leave us a 5-star rating and review in your favorite podcast app.Miss an episode?
