Missional Community: Neighborhood or Network?

When making disciples in community, a common strategy question arises: should we have a Missional Community that is only neighborhood-based, or should we start a Missional Community that's relationally network-based?In this episode, Caesar lays out the advantages and disadvantages of both neighborhood and networked-based approaches to community building. And the importance of creating organized and organic rhythms whichever way you go.In This Episode You’ll Learn:Why proximity is gold when living on mission together. The importance of understanding your proactive and reactive mission. The benefits and challenges that both approaches present.Loads of real-world examples on how all of this works.Get started here…From this episode:“If your Missional Community is made up of people that are coming from different parts of town and for whatever reason, have formed a community on mission, you can still succeed. You're going to have to be a LOT more intentional about how you plan your times and activities together and know that it could start to feel event-based if you're not careful." Each week the Big 3 will give you immediate action steps to get you started.Download today’s BIG 3 right now. Creating a Multi-Generational Family Team

For many in Western civilization, our idea of "family" seems like a failed experiment. We’ve been sold the line that the family exists primarily as a springboard for the individual. But what if our families functioned more like a team–a team on a mission? In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, Caesar talks with Jeremy Pryor, who has created a multi-generational household that lives together on mission making disciples of Jesus. Their story is powerful! In This Episode You’ll Learn:Why so many families fail to live as a team and do life and mission together. The simple, yet powerful rhythms that Jeremy's family live in.The role that "intentionality" plays in establishing new family rhythms.Ideas to help you start to create a family team right where you're at.Get started here…From this episode:“There’s this other bigger story about what God's doing with his bride and the church, which is nested inside an even bigger story. Which is how God desires to recapture all of humanity. It goes from Genesis 1 all the way to the end of Revelation. And so you can fixate on smaller stories, and sometimes, we live our lives kind of from the center out, but man, you need to be careful that you [and your family] don't become part of a smaller story. You have to see the bigger picture.”Each week the Big 3 will give you immediate action steps to get you started.Download today’s BIG 3 right now. Read and think over them again later. Is Discipleship Different for Women?

Men's and women's ministries have been separated in the church for years. But the church is a family. And when we disciple together, as a family in community, we experience deeper discipleship in every area of life.In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, Caesar is joined by his wife Tina, and their friend and fellow disciple-maker, Barb Terry. He gets their perspective on women and discipleship. Are there differences? We find out that the answer is both "yes" and "no".In This Episode You’ll Learn:Why the church has traditionally separated men and women. The importance of women finding their "sisterhood" within community. Can women be effectively discipled by men?Why understanding our gospel identity leads to freedom for both women and men.Get started here…From this episode:"We are all completely uniquely created, designed by God. We're here for a purpose. We're not just here to get by or survive or get stuff done, we get to live our lives in a way that glorifies God, and it shows people what he is like. Living in that reality, in the truth of our gospel identity, changes what we have to do into what we get to do. Yeah. We're totally free to be whatever God created us to be."Each week the Big 3 will give you immediate action steps to get you started.Download today’s BIG 3 right now. Disciple Making: 10 Things That May Be Stopping You

As the Church, it’s pretty common to assume the things we’ve seen as barriers to discipleship and life in community are unique to our own context, neighborhood or circumstances. That’s just not true!In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, Caesar talks about 10 things that may be keeping you and the folks in your church from making disciples and really living on mission with God in everyday life.In This Episode You’ll Learn:The most common roadblocks to discipleship and mission. What is really behind each of these apparent obstacles.Questions to ask yourself to get free and get moving. The surprising “roadblock” that encompasses most (or all) of the rest!Get started here…From this episode:"For a whole lot of the church around the world, no one's making disciples, and they don't know how, and they've never really been discipled in all of life and they've never seen it. So they don’t know how to get started with true discipleship communities. Here's the question to ask yourself: ‘Am I willing to be part of forging new rhythms in my life, in our church and family so that others can see and experience this kingdom of God up close?’ Will YOU be the one to change this? Get started and learn and move and start to create new rhythms."Each week the Big 3 will give you immediate action steps to get you started.Download today’s BIG 3 right now. Can Starfish Help Us Reimagine Church?

The Church was originally a decentralized movement. Before everything became housed in church buildings with hierarchical leadership, the priesthood of all believers was equipped and sent to make disciples. In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, Caesar talks with Rob Wegner and Lance Ford about why the distributed structures of 'starfish' organizations uniquely fit the church today. Just like a starfish can reproduce itself fully from only one of its legs, churches with this type of regenerative ability are much more nimble in reacting to external change and outside forces. In This Episode You’ll Learn:The difference between "spider" and "starfish" organizations. How embracing the starfish's reproductive ability changes the way we lead the church. Why equipping is job #1 for pastors and leaders in the church today. How every Believer carries the full DNA of a disciple-making movement.Get started here…From this episode:"Leaders need to do an honest heart evaluation, asking themselves, 'how much equipping of the saints am I really doing for ministry out there–not just church service jobs and activities?' Remember, equipping is different from teaching. Equipping is a relational transaction that is personal and requires time and gives people the freedom to grow as they learn, and learn as they go."Each week the Big 3 will give you immediate action steps to get you started.Download today’s BIG 3 right now. How The Gospel Speaks To Our Anger

Anger is clearly a huge issue in our lives and culture. It's probably going to stay that way. However, anger can be a good thing. Yes. You read that correctly. Anger is actually an attribute of God and of those who desire to love well.In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, Caesar breaks down the source and purpose of anger. You'll also see how and why anger destroys. And we'll give you a way to heal the anger in your life.In This Episode You’ll Learn:How anger may be destroying your health and relationships.Where (and why) the Bible commands us to be angry.A definition for uncorrupted, righteous anger. How to begin to heal your anger and move toward love.Get started here…From this episode:“We tend to think that hate is the opposite of love, but actually the opposite of love is indifference; which is what we have if God never gets angry. True love gets angry at the unbelief, pain, and messed up consequences we see in the world and in the lives of those we love.”Each week the Big 3 will give you immediate action steps to get you started.Download today’s BIG 3 right now. It may be the way forward requires a serious look back at the patterns and promises of Jesus. In this episode of the Everyday Disciple Podcast, Caesar shares a good bit of his own story on how God moved him from traditional, vocational church ministry to living a life on mission. This will encourage you not to despise the day of small beginnings! In This Episode You’ll Learn:Caesar's journey from businessman to pastor to full-time disciple-maker.The Patterns and Promises Jesus taught about Kingdom growth in the parables. Why healthy things (including churches) always grow. Why small is big, slow is fast, and multiplication wins.Get started here…From this episode:“There is another story we need to hear, one that doesn’t fit with the tale we’ve grown up believing: The kingdom of God has come, and our King desires to have our entire life. He doesn’t just give us a ticket to a happy afterlife. He wants us to be a part of his work today. We were created and saved to live with Jesus, and we are empowered by his own Spirit to be part of his restoration of all things.
