Introducing Tales of The Town, a new podcast and multimedia project about Black Oakland. This podcast is executive produced and hosted by Abbas Muntaqim and Delency Parham, and the senior producer is our good friend Maya Cueva, who is an award winning documentarian and audio engineer. Over the next 12 weeks, we will bring to you a highly produced podcast that tells over 100 years of Oakland history. There’s over 30 interviews, from our elders, ancestors, and peers, that tell the tales of the town. We are excited for you all, as our loyal patrons, to take part with us in this audio journey that tells Oakland history in a way that hasn’t been done before – before the stories are gone forever. Because you all are patrons, the announcement was posted here first, and will be public tomorrow. When it’s public, we ask you all to help support us and get the word out.
