The current gender debate often flattens out the meaning of gender - male and female are merely the result of evolutionary developments and therefore we can construct and reconstruct gender in any way we see fit. All too often, Christian imaginations show evidence of having been hacked by the materialistic consensus in which we live. When it comes to the invisible dimension of reality, most Christians live as functional materialists, giving lip-service to the reality of the supernatural but denying its power.
