Is Low Level Inflammation Impacting Your Bones??
In this video, Dr. Doug Lucas discusses chronic inflammation, a major contributor to various chronic health conditions, including bone loss. It can be caused by poor lifestyle choices, such as a diet high in processed foods and added sugars, lack of exercise or excessive exercise, chronic stress, underlying health conditions, and exposure to toxins. Inflammation leads to bone loss by stimulating osteoclasts and inhibiting osteoblasts, as well as disrupting hormone balance. To reduce chronic inflammation, it is important to focus on an anti-inflammatory diet high in antioxidants, engage in regular exercise that includes resistance training and impact training, practice stress mitigation techniques like meditation and breathwork, and minimize exposure to toxins by eating organic, local, and homegrown foods and avoiding synthetic chemicals.

NEW STUDY! Hormone Risk vs Fracture Risk
In this video, Dr. Doug Lucas reviews a study that was released on the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for bone health. The study is a 20-year follow-up of the Women's Health Initiative, which enrolled over 161,000 postmenopausal women. The study had two hormone trials: a combined therapy of estrogen and synthetic progesterone, and an estrogen-only therapy for women who had a hysterectomy. The combined therapy showed increased risks of blood clots, stroke, and invasive breast cancer, but also a reduction in hip fractures. The estrogen-only therapy showed a reduction in coronary heart disease, heart attacks, and breast cancer incidence. However, the reduction in hip fractures did not persist over the long term. The study also found no significant difference in risk based on age. The findings suggest that estrogen therapy can be beneficial for bone health, but should be part of a comprehensive approach and individualized based on risk factors.

Osteoboost Review | Will This Device REALLY Build Bone?
In this conversation, Douglas Lucas does a review of a new bone health device called OsteoBoost. He discusses the claims made by the company, the available research, and the potential benefits of the device. The device uses vibration technology and claims to improve bone density. He examines the studies cited by the company and raises questions about their methodology and clinical significance. He also discusses the limitations of the device and compares it to other bone health interventions.

Interview with Dr. Richard Schaffer from QC Kinetix
In this conversation, Douglas Lucas interviews Dr. Richard Schaffer, founding partner and board member of QC Kinetix. They discuss the use of stem cells, PRP, and other regenerative medicine options for joint pain and osteoarthritis. He explains the protocols developed by QC Kinetix, including PRP, A2M, and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC). The conversation covers the definition of stem cells, what is currently available in the United States, and who would benefit from these regenerative options. The conversation highlights the demand for non-surgical regenerative options and the scalability of QC Kinetix. The conversation concludes with a discussion on who would benefit from seeking treatment at QC Kinetix and how long the relief from these treatments can last.

Will this Device Reduce Menopause Symptoms and Build Bone? Blood Flow Restriction Research
In this conversation, Douglas Lucas discusses blood flow restriction (BFR) bands, also known as Katsu bands, a tool that can provide the benefits of resistance training without the need for heavy weights. BFR bands work by restricting blood flow to the muscles, which stimulates a response similar to that of lifting heavy weights. This can be beneficial for individuals with osteoporosis who may have difficulty lifting heavy objects. BFR bands can be used by a wide range of individuals, from athletes looking for an edge to those recovering from injury or with low muscle mass. However, it is important to use BFR bands safely and consult with a healthcare provider if you have any medical conditions or concerns.

Will This Vegetable Root Heal Your Hormones and Improve Bone Health? | Maca for Menopause Symptoms
In this conversation, Douglas Lucas discusses maca, a supplement that is claimed to improve bone health and hormone levels in peri and postmenopausal women. It is known as an adaptogen and is rich in nutrients. Maca works by increasing estrogen levels in the brain, which then signals the ovaries to produce more estrogen. However, the research on maca is limited and inconsistent. While it has been shown to increase estrogen levels, its impact on bone mineral density is unclear. Maca may be useful for relieving symptoms in premenopausal women and those experiencing hormonal imbalances, but it is not a replacement for estrogen in postmenopausal women. The recommended product is Feminessence.

Create Your Own Osteoporosis Reversal Plan!
In this conversation, Douglas Lucas discusses how to build a comprehensive bone health program. He introduces the Health Optimization Pyramid, which emphasizes the importance of focusing on the pillars of health, including nutrition, exercise, sleep, social connection, mindset, and spiritual health. Lucas explains the significance of each pillar and provides recommendations for optimizing them. He also discusses the role of supplementation and hormone replacement therapy in bone health. Lucas concludes by highlighting the potential benefits of peptides and drugs, although they are not commonly prescribed in his program.

The 4 Exercises that Build Bone | NEW STUDY High-Intensity vs Low-Intensity
In this video, Dr. Doug Lucas discusses the best types of exercise for osteoporosis based on research. He compares high intensity versus low intensity exercise and the effects of medication. The high intensity group performed deadlifts, back squats, and overhead barbell presses, while the low intensity group followed a Pilates-based program called BuffBones. The high intensity group showed improvements in bone mineral density and bone strength, while the low intensity group had no change. The study also found that resistance training and impact training are important for bone health. The conversation emphasizes the importance of seeking one-on-one instruction and doing exercises safely.

In this video, Dr. Doug Lucas discusses the principles of imaging studies, specifically DEXA, TBS, and REMS. He explains how to read and interpret the results of these imaging techniques and emphasizes the importance of understanding the differences between them. The video also touches on the limitations and potential inaccuracies of these imaging methods. Overall, the goal is to help viewers better understand their own imaging data and how to use it to improve their bone health.
