219 The Godfather Part 2 Act 2

Honestly, John and Steve have no idea how many episodes of The Cine-Files it will take to explore Francis Ford Coppola's, The Godfather Part 2, but one thing they do know is that two is definitely not enough. Hal Holbrook & All The President's Men (Revisited)

WARNING: If you hate when The Cine-Files gets political, then, this podcast isn't for you. A few days ago we lost the great Hal Holbrook, an actor who has been a mainstay of Theater, TV and Film for more than seven decades. He is most known for two things, the decades he devoted to his iconic portrayal of Mark Twain and a the portrayal of a man who only appears in the dark shadows of an empty parking lot, Deep Throat.  It is that performance in the brilliant, All The President's Men, that we are revisiting today. This episode was originally recorded in April of 2017 and it's no surprise that, in light o everything that's happened since then, Steve and John have a lot to say about journalism, democracy and the devaluation of truth.  If you haven't seen this incredible film you can buy or stream it right here. https://amzn.to/3ayQ76Q Don’t forget to support The Cine-Files at https://www.patreon.com/TheCineFiles and purchase any film we feature at https://www.cine-files.net Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheCineFilesPod/?ref=bookmarks John @therochasays Steve @srmorris The Cine-Files Twitter @cine_files Instagram thecinefilespodcast --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thecine-files/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thecine-files/supportOur Sponsors:* Check out Hims: https://hims.com/CINEFILES* Check out TruDiagnostic and use my code CINEFILES for a great deal: https://www.trudiagnostic.com* Check out Washington Red Raspberries: https://redrazz.orgSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-cine-files/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Cloris Leachman & Young Frankenstein (Revisited)

Cloris Leachman was a working actor for seven decades. She starred on Broadway and the golden age of television in the late forties and fifties. She won an academy award for one of the seminal movies of new cinema, Peter Bogdanavich's The Last Picture Show. She turned in unbelievably funny performances in three of Mel Brooks' greatest films and she created one of the most beloved and indelible characters in Television history with Phyllis. And all of that was in the first three decades of her career.  So now, we return to the earliest days of The Cine-Files with our 9th episode, Mel Brooks' tribute to the James Whale classic Young Frankenstein.  If you haven't seen this incredible film you can buy or stream it right here. https://amzn.to/3tq8inJ Don’t forget to support The Cine-Files at https://www.patreon.com/TheCineFiles and purchase any film we feature at https://www.cine-files.net Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheCineFilesPod/?ref=bookmarks John @therochasays Steve @srmorris The Cine-Files Twitter @cine_files Instagram thecinefilespodcast --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thecine-files/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thecine-files/supportOur Sponsors:* Check out Hims: https://hims.com/CINEFILES* Check out TruDiagnostic and use my code CINEFILES for a great deal: https://www.trudiagnostic.com* Check out Washington Red Raspberries: https://redrazz.orgSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-cine-files/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

216 The Godfather Act 2

There has, perhaps been no more anticipated episodes of The Cine-Files than Francis Ford Coppola's , The Godfather and, consequently, no movie that John and Steve stressed about more than this masterpiece. In part 2, we see the change of Michael Corleone from a man determined to separate from his family to a killer a fugitive and eventually, a Don.  If you haven't seen this incredible film you can buy or stream it right here. https://amzn.to/3oslx4h Don’t forget to support The Cine-Files at https://www.patreon.com/TheCineFiles and purchase any film we feature at https://www.cine-files.net Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheCineFilesPod/?ref=bookmarks John @therochasays Steve @srmorris The Cine-Files Twitter @cine_files Instagram thecinefilespodcast --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thecine-files/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thecine-files/supportOur Sponsors:* Check out Hims: https://hims.com/CINEFILES* Check out TruDiagnostic and use my code CINEFILES for a great deal: https://www.trudiagnostic.com* Check out Washington Red Raspberries: https://redrazz.orgSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-cine-files/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

215 The Godfather Act 1

The Godfather is, without question, one of the most eagerly anticipated movies in the history of The Cine-Files and that's not surprising. After all, it ranks as the number two film on the latest AFI 100, surpassed only by Citizen Kane. To say that Steve and John approached this masterpiece with trepidation is an understatement but, the fact is, the conversation they had was so much fun that it will probably end up being the longest exploration of a film in the history of the podcast (at least, that is, until they move on to The Godfather Part 2) If you haven't seen this incredible film you can buy or stream it right here. https://amzn.to/3oslx4h Don’t forget to support The Cine-Files at https://www.patreon.com/TheCineFiles and purchase any film we feature at https://www.cine-files.net Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheCineFilesPod/?ref=bookmarks John @therochasays Steve @srmorris The Cine-Files Twitter @cine_files Instagram thecinefilespodcast --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thecine-files/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thecine-files/supportOur Sponsors:* Check out Hims: https://hims.com/CINEFILES* Check out TruDiagnostic and use my code CINEFILES for a great deal: https://www.trudiagnostic.com* Check out Washington Red Raspberries: https://redrazz.orgSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-cine-files/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
