Good series in Milwaukee. Max Scherzer returned on Monday night and helped the Mets clinch their first playoff berth in six years with six perfect innings. That was followed by a very subdued, very sophisticated, very warranted celebration. Then Tuesday Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso showed off their power with home runs to send the Mets to victory. Wednesday was less fun, but the Mets won another series and continue to steam ahead in their pursuit of the National League East crown. Marc also has come all the way back to tie the Esti-Met. Bang! Just what the doctor ordered! Shoutout to you guys for cleansing those chakras because the Mets quickly flipped the script on their week with a four game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Francisco Lindor got it started on Thursday for Roberto Clemente Night with a new glove, fresh cleats, and a loud home run. By the end of the series, the whole team got in on the fun. Jeff McNeil stayed hot, Pete Alonso drove in a run in every game, Brandon Nimmo was on base at will, Daniel Vogelbach found his power stroke, and Eduardo Escobar stayed swinging a hot bat. Bad, bad, bad. This was the worst series the Mets played all year. Couldn't really hit, couldn't really pitch, couldn't really play defense. Just bad stuff all-around. We talk about the games (briefly) but spend most of this episode zooming out. Where are the Mets, where could they go, what's going on, things like that. Good series! Everyone got scared after a hard-luck loss on Friday night before we took the last two games in Miami with very little resistance. Carlos Carrasco and Taijuan Walker were masterful and gave us the length we needed. The lineup stepped up too!
