How do you define faith? And what might great faith look like? One of the debated areas of biblical theology has to do with what we could call “atonement theory.” In other words, how did Jesus’ death on the cross accomplish our salvation. This is not a debate about “if” his death accomplished it, but “how.” That’s all well and good, but our intent this Easter season is to focus on the fact of our forgiveness being made possible on the cross—not the way that forgiveness operated. What do you think of when you hear the words, "You need to grow up?" What does it mean to be a "grown-up?" In our culture a big part of maturity is independence. An essential part of adult life is independence. That's why it's very confusing to our minds that in Christ, growing up is growing into complete and utter dependence on God. As believers growing doesn't make us need God less. In fact as we grow up in Christ, we need our Savior more desperately.
