Hope for Those Who Have Lost Loved Ones: God's Message to Us
The old pop song by Bill Withers called “Lean on Me” talked about the value of leaning on a friend when we’re weak. Today, we’ll see that’s God’s message to us. When our lives have been shredded by circumstances beyond our control – or even circumstances brought on by our own mistakes – God is our refuge. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out, after his son suddenly went to heaven, God’s compassion was reconfirmed – and he shares that reassurance today. Time to Take Out the Trash: Where Our Focus Should Be
Driving instructors often tell their students to look ahead on the road – don’t focus on the mailbox coming up on the right, or the approaching car on the left. If you focus on those dangers, you tend to steer that direction. On a spiritual level, we find similar advice in the Lord’s Sermon on the Mount. And today on A New Beginning, Pastor Greg Laurie highlights this time-tested counsel Jesus gives us about the worries and cares that keep us from focusing where we should: on Him. “What Happens When Christians Pray Together” | Sunday Message
There is power in united prayer when it is offered to God with passion and persistence. In this Sunday morning message, Pastor Greg Laurie relates the ways that prayer can change lives in his newest message, “What Happens When Christians Pray Together.” Give a listen! Notes There is a right and a wrong way to pray. Prayer can dramatically change situations, people, and even the course of nature. God allows hardship, challenge, need, and even tragedy so He can reveal Himself. When we pray, we are acknowledging our weakness and need for God’s help. Who was the strongest man to have ever lived? Jesus! And He prayed—so we should, too! God does not want us as believers to isolate but, rather, infiltrate culture. Satan hates evangelism. “But constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.” —Acts 12:5 1. The prayer that has power is the one that is offered to God. The key is to get our will into an alignment with God’s will. We can know the will of God by careful study of Scripture. Nothing lies outside the reach of prayer except that which lies outside the will of God. 2. They prayed with passion and persistence. Sometimes God says “Go.” Sometimes God says “Slow.” Sometimes God says “Grow.” 3. They prayed together! There is power in united prayer! “Prayer is striking the winning blow; service is gathering up the results.” —Psalm 4:8 4. They prayed doubtingly. We enter into eternity! We decide in this life where we will spend the afterlife. Scripture Referenced Matthew 15:8 1 John 5:14 Psalm 127:2 --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. Encore Interview | If God Is Good: A Conversation with Randy Alcorn
In this classic interview, Pastor Greg Laurie discusses suffering, evil, and the goodness of God with Randy Alcorn, best-selling author of If God Is Good: Faith in the Midst of Suffering and Evil. There are two types of people in the world: Those who are going through a crisis and those who will go through a crisis. So before crisis hits, how should we prepare, and how do we deal with difficult questions we grapple with in our suffering? Randy Alcorn says about God, “He doesn’t mind our questions. We should bring them to Him. He has answers. But He doesn’t always have the answers that we want that are direct and exact. He gives us principles and basically reveals Himself and His character and calls upon us to trust Him.” Gain spiritual perspective from this compelling conversation! --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org This podcast is supported by the generosity of our Harvest Partners.Support the show: https://harvest.org/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Time to Take Out the Trash: Leaving Our Burdens with The Lord
The Lord tells us to cast all our cares upon Him, for He cares for us. It’s like we’ve come out of a department store with bags full of merchandise, and it’s hard to navigate our way through the parking lot. We drop this bag, then we drop that bag. We might even hear the sound of broken glass. The Lord shows up with a cart and says, I’ll take ‘em from here. Today on A New Beginning, Pastor Greg Laurie points out how we can leave our burdens with the Lord. He’ll know what to do with them. Let’s Talk About Heaven: Our Eternal Home
They say, in any major city these days, there are cameras watching you . . . as you walk, as you drive. Security cameras in front of a market, or built into a nearby ATM. Maybe a webcam on the top of a building or someone’s video doorbell. What about our friends and loved ones in heaven? Are they watching what’s going on here on earth? Pastor Greg Laurie addresses that question and several others today on A NEW BEGINNING as he presents a glimpse of life inside our eternal home. Let's Talk About Heaven: Overwhelming Joy
Sometimes, we just can’t hold back the joy. When our favorite sports team wins the big game. When our young child takes his first steps. When you hear the words, “You may kiss your bride.” Well, when we get to heaven, we just may not be able to hold ourselves back from worship. Today on A New Beginning, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us see what we’ll be doing in heaven . . . and what things will be different from this life, and what things will largely be the same.
