What in the World Is Going On? | Being Faithful in the Small Things
Remember the first time you drove a car? It was unnerving. Just starting the car and adjusting the mirrors took concentration. But before long, you were driving in traffic . . . merging . . . parallel parking -- or something close to it. But you had to start with the small things before you could tackle the big things. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie says the same dynamic applies in our walk of faith. Being faithful in the small things equips us for the big things. This Is Not a Drill | Cheerfully Giving for God
Every Sunday morning belongs to God . . . unless it’s a beautiful day, then you gotta get out in the fresh air. Every Sunday morning belongs to God . . . unless the weather’s awful, then you gotta watch the forecast. Devotions, every morning . . . unless you didn’t sleep well, or were out late the night before. God isn’t content with the leftovers of our lives. He wants to be top priority. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out that principle even extends to our financial management. It's Time to Pray | Are You Praying Wholeheartedly?
In Hebrews 4 we read, “So let us keep on coming boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” If God, in God’s Word, invites us to come to God in boldness . . . maybe we should! Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us take that direction to heart. We’re continuing our studies in the fascinating Old Testament book of Nehemiah. So many great lessons from the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem. Listen on harvest.org --- Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org. Working from Salvation | Today’s Devotion from Greg Laurie
Get encouragement with this special reading of Pastor Greg’s daily devotion. Learn more and subscribe at: https://harvest.org/resources/devotions/ --- “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” —Galatians 6:9 When we hear the statement “You reap what you sow,” we tend to think of it in a negative sense. And there is a negative way that it can play out in our lives. But the Bible says, “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life” (Galatians 6:8 NKJV). The Bible promises rewards — acknowledgment for our faithful service to the Lord. And Jesus said, “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work” (Revelation 22:12 NKJV). We must do His work. Are you working for the Lord? I’m not referring to working for your salvation, because salvation is a gift from God to you. Ephesians 2:8 tells us, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God” (NKJV). Because of that, we should want to do something for the Lord, not working for salvation but working from salvation. A faith that works will produce works. A faith that doesn’t work won’t. The apostle Paul wrote, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV). Jesus often made the statement, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matthew 11:15 NKJV). In other words, “Pay attention to what is being said!” We all know what it’s like to tune things out when someone is saying something that we don’t want to hear. But when it comes to hearing and obeying God’s Word, Jesus is saying, “Tune it in.” The decisions we make and the lifestyle we choose now will impact us in the life to come. --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. Angels and Demons | Satan's Tactics
Ever been the target of a scam? Many of us have, some without even realizing it. None of the scammers admit they’re trying to rip you off. They play upon your fear . . . or your kindness. They find a weakness or a vulnerability. Satan is like that, only he’s been practicing a lot longer. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie warns us about his tactics and strategies. We’re each in his crosshairs, but as believers we’re under the protection of The Cross. Listen on harvest.org --- Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org. Angels and Demons | Angels Are Real
What do most people know about angels? Chances are they don’t know a lot, and what they do know comes from movies, or TV programs or . . . cartoons! That’s just fiction . . . make believe. But it would be a mistake to just throw out the concept of angels altogether. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out that angels are real, and they’re an important part of the plan of God. But we’ll see not all angels are “the good guys.” Reliable biblical insight is coming your way today. Listen on harvest.org --- Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org. The Purpose of Gethsemane | Sobering Moments
Sometimes life brings us to a sobering moment, a crisis, an agonizing decision, an inescapable admission and we wonder how we’re going to get through it. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out that Jesus faced such a climactic moment. His crucifixion was hours away, His disciples had fallen asleep. He was left alone with His thoughts. But we’ll see He was actually left alone to commune with the Father. What Jesus did can help us navigate our Gethsemane moments. The Purpose of Gethsemane | Suffering
Some come to the Lord thinking the Christian life is smooth sailing, never a cloud in the sky, never a rogue wave to rock our boat. That’s a faulty assumption. The Lord doesn’t promise perfect weather, He walks with us in the midst of the storms. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie shows us how we can be ready for those times of challenge. We’ll see how to prepare for extreme challenges by following the example of Jesus Himself as He faced an extreme challenge.
