How to Live a Meaningful Life | Sunday Message
God wants us to have a successful finish and part of that means helping Him reach those around us. Listen in as Pastor Greg Laurie explores Acts 19 and 20 to share “running tips” from the apostle Paul! Notes God used Paul powerfully, and miracles were happening! Whenever God is at work, the devil will be there to oppose. Satan is real and powerful. Jesus is much more powerful than Satan. The best defense is a good offense. Paul compares himself to a runner in a race (1 Corinthians 9:24). Paul warned to not “get off track.” Paul warned against looking back. Paul wanted to "finish his race with joy." It is a joyful thing to know and walk with God. We need to “play by the rules.” Paul compared himself to a steward. Everything we have has been given to us by God. Paul compared himself to a witness. Paul compared himself to a herald. Paul compared himself to a watchman. We all have 3 things to give to God: Our talent Our treasure Our time We are to be: Runners Stewards Witnesses Heralds Watchmen God wants all of us to finish well. The greatest legacy you can pass on is your faith. Heaven is a prepared place for prepared people. Why Does God Allow Suffering? | Embracing Correction
It’s no mistake that the words disciple and discipline are related. Those who truly follow the Lord wholeheartedly – genuine disciples – may often feel the loving Hand of correction when they stray. Disciples are sometimes disciplined. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out that discipline may sometimes be perceived as suffering. And we may ask God why we’re facing that pain. Why Does God Allow Suffering? | Good Perspective
When you take your young child to the doctor to get a shot, you know it’s going to cause them some pain. From the child’s perspective, they may ask “why?” “Why does it have to hurt?” From a parent’s perspective, you know the pain is momentary, but the benefit is long-lasting. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us see our pain through the eyes of God, our Heavenly Father. It may not end the pain, but it may give us good perspective for our journey. How to Not Be Born Again | His Power On Display
Ever wonder why the stars glow at night? No, not the scientific reason. Why did God make them visible to us, even though some are thousands of light years away? Maybe it’s a message. How to Not Be Born Again | A Message From God
God had an important message to deliver to mankind. He was surrounded by heavenly messengers, called angels. But He had a different plan. He could have written His message across the sky, or fashioned creation itself to reveal His words. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out, instead, God chose to deliver the message Himself, clothed in humanity, born as a baby. Today, we’ll look at the message, and the God-man who was born in a manger. View and subscribe to Pastor Greg’s weekly notes. --- Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org. The Real Thing | Sunday Message (with Pastor Jonathan Laurie)
Having a community of believers to surround you will support you in your walk and give you the opportunity to support others as well. In a special Sunday episode, Pastor Jonathan Laurie gives us a model of what a gospel partnership really looks like. Notes Priscilla and Aquila were ordinary people who made a profound impact. To be “Corinthianized” meant to be morally corrupt to the extreme. Priscilla and Aquila were missionaries, evangelists, teachers, and friends to the church. Priscilla and Aquila built their life upon the rock-solid foundation of Jesus Christ. Hope comes from being in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Priscilla and Aquila had spiritual community. Don’t underestimate just how much Christian fellowship through a small group, “koinonia,” can change your life. Salvation comes by faith in what Christ did on the cross. “The path to public success is always paved with private discipline.” —Craig Groeschel A fake salvation, a fake faith, a fake relationship with God hurts you the most. The world is constantly telling you to do things for yourself, to be selfish. The Bible says worship God, empty yourself, and live your life as a living sacrifice. Scripture Referenced 1 Corinthians 2:1–5 Matthew 7:24–27 2 Corinthians 1:3–5 James 1:2–4 Psalm 103:2 --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. Classic Interview | Finding My Identity: An Conversation with Austin Carlile
Pastor Greg Laurie sits down with Austin Carlile, former vocalist from Of Mice & Men about his journey to faith. Austin recounts the years he spent running away from God and how he came into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Although he was raised by Christian parents, Austin Carlile grew angry with God after his mother’s death and pursued satisfaction in a music career. Having spent years in the band Of Mice & Men, Austin Carlile had it all: money, fame, and a fast lifestyle. He performed alongside Kanye West, Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold, and others, but inside he had a hole in his heart that only God could fill. Diagnosed with Marfan syndrome and undergoing many surgeries, Austin had to turn to the one person who could save him: Jesus Christ. God had a plan for Austin's life, and He has a plan for your life. The Race We Must Win | Living for The Future
Author Max Lucado has pointed out that a car’s windshield is a lot bigger than the rearview mirror, because we need to focus on where we’re going, not where we’ve been. Too many of us want to drag our past failures right into our present. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us break from the sins of our past, and focus on finishing our lives well. It’s the final instalment today in Pastor Greg’s encouraging series in Philippians . . . a series simply called Happiness.
