Premier League Roundup and Champions League Draw Reaction
Musa and Ryan round up the Premier League games from the weekend, beginning with the news that Luton’s Tom Lockyer is thankfully stable after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch against Bournemouth, before they move on to the games themselves. Musa and Ryan react to Tuesday night’s Champions League games, which saw Real Sociedad qualify top of their group ahead of Inter and a last gasp goal for Benfica to send them into the Europa League (02:30). Then it’s onto Manchester United’s defeat to Bayern, which means there will be no more European football at Old Trafford this season (05:20), with Copenhagen joining Bayern in the knockouts and Galatasaray heading to the Europa League. Galatasaray and Man United Share a Cracker, Six for Arsenal, and Dortmund Escape the Group of Death
The Champions League was on one this week, so Musa and Ryan begin in Istanbul, for Galatasaray and Manchester United’s incredible 3-3 draw (3:47), which did Erik ten Hag no favours, thanks to Copenhagen’s draw at Bayern. Sevilla went out, after letting a two-goal lead slip to lose 3-2 at home to PSV (13:46), whereas Arsenal go through to the next stage top of the group, after thrashing Lens 6-0 in a game which featured six different goal scorers (17:12). In Group C (25:01), Rodrygo and Bellingham scored again in Real Madrid’s 4-2 win over Napoli, and Union went out of the Champions League in Braga.
