Healing Beyond the Hospital: The Vision of Predictive Healthcare with Talal Ali Ahmad

In today's episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Talal Ali Ahmad. He is the CEO of Predictive Healthcare, a platform that aims to bridge the gap between physicians and patients after leaving the hospital. Through this platform, physicians can monitor their patients without being overwhelmed by the amount of data entering their inbox, because Predictive Healthcare uses AI algorithms to identify which abnormal results are clinically significant. On the other hand, patients can communicate with their providers, providing them with information about their wound healing process, vital signs, daily activities, and much more. Postoperative complications pose a significant challenge to hospitals and physicians. From a public health perspective, physicians allocate their time to caring for patients with postoperative complications instead of performing more procedures on patients in need. Additionally, hospitals usually don't get reimbursed for readmissions. Join me today as we discuss the importance of Predictive Healthcare in the era of AI.1:38 - The Motivation Behind Predictive Healthcare07:00 - Addressing Challenges08:33 - Exploring How the Platform Functions10:30 - Patient Interface Overview13:07 - Physician Interface Overview16:41 - User Experience and Its Impact on Hospitals and Patients23:06 - Why Hospitals Lose Money on Readmissions27:06 - Utilizing AI to Analyze Data30:04 - The Importance of Data Change Over Time34:47 - Transitioning from Engineering to Entrepreneurship40:25 - The Significance of Interviewing Physicians and Healthcare Workers for MVP Development43:36 - Navigating FDA Regulations48:01 - Recruitment Strategies in MedTech53:38 - Strategies for Building Effective Teams55:05 - Important Core valuesRoupen Odabashian:LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/roupen-odabashian-183aaa142/X: https://twitter.com/RoupenMDTalal Ali AhmadLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/talalaliahmad/X: https://twitter.com/TaliahmadPredictive Healthcare: https://predictivehealthcare.ai#PredictiveHealthcare #Healthcare #startup #DigitalHealth #PatientCare #HealthTech #MedTech #PostoperativeCare #HealthcareInnovation #PhysicianSupport #PatientMonitoring #HospitalManagement #AIHealthSolutions #MedicalTechnology #HealthcareTrends #HealthDataAnalytics #PatientEngagement #HealthcareLeadership #HospitalReadmissions #PublicHealth #TalalAliAhmad #CEOInsights #HealthcarePodcast

A wearable cardiac ultrasound imager: A delta in medical imaging

Today on Delta, we're joined by Dr. Hu, an integral engineer from Professor Sheng Xu's group from UC San Diego. They've pioneered a groundbreaking wearable ultrasound device that breaks the convention and promises to revolutionize how we perceive cardiac health monitoring. Traditional methods have limitations in continuous cardiac imaging, mostly due to device bulkiness and time consumption. However, Dr. Hu and Prof Xu group have managed to overcome these barriers, offering an ultrasonic wearable that directly assesses cardiac function in real-time. Their innovation doesn't stop there: with improved skin-device mechanical coupling, the device can examine the left ventricle dynamically, even during motion. Furthermore, their deep learning model extracts critical cardiac performance data, such as stroke volume and ejection fraction, from continuous image recordings. Dive into this conversation to learn how this technology promises improved accuracy in monitoring cardiac performance, potentially setting a new benchmark in healthcare.
