We’ve recently seen all the proof that we need as a world to understand why we NEED Web 3.0 sooner than later. Fake news, Twitter censorship, data hacking and selling, market manipulations, Apple kicking Fortnite off the app store (lol come on now)… We are currently living in a world where our digital freedoms are being taken. I don’t blame the companies which are doing so, it aligns with their capitalistic, profit-first mentality which all businesses possess (yes, us too!). In order to re-align the system, we must first re-align the incentives. …Something that Web 3.0 platforms like Status are trying to do. Status was born in the 2017 ICO mania and has stuck around ever since building all the pieces necessary for a successful software protocol. Status advertises themselves as a “peer-to-peer messenger, crypto wallet, & web3 browser for private, secure communication” however we like to think of it as DeFi for mobile ;) In this episode we had the pleasure of sitting down with the marketing and comms/biz development lead, Jonny Zerah. We explore advertising in web 3, bringing DeFi to the masses on mobile, Status’ past 3 years in business as a startup & whats to come in the DeFi & Web3.0 space. Think of every large company or corporation that you know of… There’s C-level executives with their names everywhere, people who work there with ID numbers and name tags. But something has been changing in the crypto space that could be a monumental shift in the way we do business. First we have psuedonymity, where your name or face is somewhat real but its not fully you. Going even deeper there’s full out anonymity and running a full fledged business as a team of anons. Anon powered. And thats exactly whats going on with the $ROPE team. Fully anon. Devs dead. No plans. Don’t buy $ROPE. Seems like a buncha shenanigans eh? We thought so too (and well, maybe it is, DYOR). But after speaking with Davis & Coin Alchemist about NFTs, yield farming, anon devs, business practices, charity giving, and the future of DeFi - our minds changed. And we hope yours will too. This one is awesome. We had the pleasure of chatting with Qiao Wang, a “semi-retired entrepreneur and quant trader, currently helping startups to grow”. Qiao is able to formulate his ideas and thoughts on the greater markets into easy to understand bits and pieces for anyone to learn from. We know we did! A really unique episode here, our friend Antonio from the Gator Blockchain Club at the University of Florida. The real future of the decentralized finance world is adoption, mass adoption.
