#35 - Hydrogen Fuel Tanks with David Jaramillo at VERNE

Hey there 👋 , welcome back to the second episode this week - again discussing Hydrogen. This time we are discussing the hydrogen storage (fuel tank) aspect of hydrogen-powered vehicles / machinery. To help us understand this we talked with David Jaramillo, Co-Founder, and CTO at VERNE. VERNE is part of the Breakthrough Energy incubator. They are doing R&D to help innovate the hydrogen storage aspect of hydrogen-powered machinery. The storage and transportation of hydrogen is currently a very difficult issue that needs to be solved. It's our hope that between this conversation and the one earlier this week with Corey Staller, you should have a pretty good view of what a fuel cell is and what hydrogen is generally. Join us next week for an episode with Brendan Banfield from Gridsight discussing how they are using data that utilities already collect to improve the relationship between the grid and distributed energy resources. Links: VERNE Website: https://www.verneh2.com/Connect with David on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-jaramillo-216a6459/Check out our Sponsor, NextWave Partners: https://www.next-wavepartners.com/Join the Slack Channel:  https://cleantechies.slack.com/join/shared_invite/zt-pd2drz6d-N~9nURU5JlyMXv2ZiO5bAQ#/shared-invite/emailSubscribe to the Newsletter: https://www.silasmahner.com/ctnewslettersignupHMU on Twitter: @silasmahnerSupport the show: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/silasmahner__________We are proud to continue working with NextWave as our official show sponsor for this podcast. #34 - Fuel Cells, Understanding Hydrogen, 10 Years Out?

This is probably the most informative conversation I've had in a long time. Very thankful for Corey Staller, the Director of Engineering at Celadyne Technologies (and Forbes 30 under 30 honoree). They are doing R&D and developing materials that will help fuel cell tech in achieving cost parity for the heavy industries with conventional motors. This episode speaks mostly to freight shipping. In the episode, we also address policy, infrastructure, and supply chain issues. Please enjoy today's episode and look out for another discussion about the fuel tank for hydrogen later this week.
