The Federal Reserve approved a much-anticipated quarter-point interest rate hike this afternoon — and suggested that another rate rise could be coming next — in its continued battle to tame inflation. And while the central bank’s statement reiterated that “ongoing increases in the target rate will be appropriate,” futures markets are still pricing in a rate cut by the end of 2023.
