151. Grief, Loss and Pain with Candy McVicar

Have you ever felt like God has abandoned you? Have you difficult circumstances or loss causes you to question God? Candy and her husband experienced a stillbirth of their first-born named Grace. At the time she didn’t feel like she received enough support and resources so she started the non-profit called Missing Grace Foundation. She also co-authored the book Holding on to Love After You’ve Lost a Baby with Dr. Gary Chapman. She is a sought after speaker, author and advocate for families who are grieving a baby or child. She share her intimate experience with finding God and the shake up her faith experienced when she lost her child. She is brutally honest with the idea she had skipped the part where the Bible says “we will have trials and tribulations”. She believed that God had abandoned her. So much so that she didn’t go to church for 3 years. Candy shares how patient God was with her in the wrestling. God in His mercy cannot interfere with free will and that there is recompense in the Kingdom of God. Be encouraged in this powerful episode about grief, loss, pain, hope and faith. “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” ~John 16:33 Book Candy for speaking: https://candymcvicar.com/ Purchase the book Holding on to Love After You’ve Lost a Baby: https://www.amazon.com/Holding-Love-After-Youve-Lost/dp/0802419402/ref=sr_1_1?crid=21WHKY20R0T19&keywords=Holding+on+to+Love+After+You%E2%80%99ve+Lost+a+Baby&qid=1703273862&sprefix=holding+on+to+love+after+you+ve+lost+a+baby%2Caps%2C169&sr=8-1 Missing Grace Foundation: https://www.missinggrace.org/ Heidi’s website: https://heidimortensonlmft.com/ If you are in crisis, help is available by call or text 1-800-273-8255 24/7. 143. Tribes Arise with Genevieve Dawn

Have you believed the lie that you were worthless? Have you been looking for a purpose in your life? Genevieve Dawn is a member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. She grew up in a home where her dad was an alcoholic and drug addict and there was a lot of upheaval in her home. Her mom got saved and filled with the Holy Spirit when she pregnant with her. She would drag her to a very religious church, which caused her to rebel. She was a teen mom, gave up another child to adoption and had an abortion. She identified herself as worthless and didn’t believe she had a future. She always had a praying mom the whole time. However, she was hemorrhaging the pain of fatherlessness. She was lost. Then God got a hold of her and her life went from a mess to a message. If you have been in a dark time in your life, this interview will pull you up and out and into God’s purpose in your life. God is moving across reservations across the nation and Tribe’s Arise International is looking for those who want to get involved and help. When you help, Native American children are served as well as the restoration of the family unit. Genevieve has a call to identify, unify and mobilize First Nation Kingdom Leaders. Now is the time to be involved to bring Kingdom transformation for our Native American people, communities and lands. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” ~1 Peter 2:9 “This world is just a shadow of the spirit world.” ~Chief Crazy Horse Genevieve’s website: www.tribesarise.org Naomi House: https://thenaomihouse.org/ To purchase the book Send Me I’ll Go: https://www.amazon.com/Send-Me-Ill-Go-Preparing/dp/1637690924/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1TBW95RPD3HKI&keywords=genevieve+dawn&qid=1698612720&sprefix=genevieve+dawn%2Caps%2C117&sr=8-1 Heidi’s website: https://heidimortensonlmft.com/ If you are in crisis, help is available by call or text 1-800-273-8255 24/7.
