In today’s Bitesize, George Watkinson tells us a story of when he experiences kidney stones - he thought when he got rid of them that his life would be without trouble, but low and behold when they were gone his life was not without trouble. Human life is not without trouble, but in 2 Corinthians 1: 3-4, Paul writes to a church in Corinth about his troubles and says ‘praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort.

In 1 Corinthians 16, Paul talks about ‘a great door for effective work’ that has opened to him, and that ‘there are many who oppose’ him. As he discusses this passage, Pete reminds us that opposition is not a reason to step through the door.

Today Katherine Chow reads to us Proverbs 20:27 - ‘the human spirit is the lamp of the Lord that sheds light on ones in most being’. Katherine invites us to look at our external behaviours, as they inform us about what we value and they tell us what we are like on the interior. Turn your heart, your inmost being to God today, and invite him in.

Jonny was part of the planting team to St Peter’s Brighton and is now Associate Vicar there, with responsibilities for homeless and vulnerable adults, and teaching theology as part of the Leadership Development Year. Jonny talks to us about living in uncertain times and how God uses these times to bring our new things from within us.

Today Tash Kusi explains how King David wanted to live in a blameless way, an in a just way, so that he could reflect God’s heart. This was his heart for his government. We may think our own government may not reflect this same heart, however Tash encourages us to pray that our government are doing was God wants. "

Today Kira Taylor discussed Proverbs 20:24, where a similar question is asked - ‘how then can anyone understand their own way?’. This verse also provides the answer - ‘a person’s steps are directed by the Lord’. Kira invites us today to take some time to see where God is moving in our life. God is directing our steps, we just need to look at the signposts.

Today Stephen Foster reads 1 Corinthians: 13, which says ‘love is patient, love is kind’. Stephen talks about how we can use a prayer method to grow these characteristics in ourselves and explains how this passage reveals that these are the characteristics Jesus has - Jesus is patient, Jesus is kind.
