Saskia Lightstar On How To Create Our Best Self EP 48
Saskia Lightstar thought she was living it big when she enjoyed the party girl lifestyle in South Africa. It turns out it was her low point, as she dealt with eating disorders and self-image issues. Then her biggest test came when she learned she had cancer. It was at that point after beating breast cancer she learned the true meaning of how to create our best self. It starts with self-love and kindness.

In this powerful Passion Struck podcast interview, John R. Miles and Saskia Lightstar discuss creating our best selves. For Saskia, it started by her understanding her self-narrative and that it needed to change. Why she considers herself a cancer misfit, and how that has completely changed her outlook on life.
Creating Our Best Self
In 2013, following her treatment for breast cancer, Saskia found that she was struggling to adapt to her new life. For her, the emotions that were put aside during her breast cancer treatment returned, and she felt stuck in a no man's land, overwhelmed with remorse, fear, and sadness. Saskia Lightstar felt like a cancer misfit, healed physically but still struggling mentally and emotionally with the trauma she'd endured.
Saskia fell into a deep, deep depression. After cancer, she would try to look up the topic of life after treatment or support after cancer treatment, and she couldn't find anything. There's so much information when you're diagnosed, and you're going through it, and then suddenly, just because you're finished the treatment, it's like you're done.
It was a good two or three years that she was quite a lost soul. And it was that rock bottom. For Saskia, that made her think, "Okay, you know what, I need to find a way out of this."
And that's where her journey really began.
Her book, The Cancer Misfit, is to catch survivors and take them to that bit when you don't know what's next, how you're feeling, or who you are anymore. That's why She is dedicating her life to helping other cancer survivors, so they don't go through the same misery as she did.

Why You Need To Stop Playing Small w/ John R. Miles EP 47
In this powerful Passion Struck podcast episode, John R. Miles breaks down why we need to stop playing small and instead play big. He goes through what it means to play small vs playing big and 7 skills you can use to play big and live a no regrets life.
Why So Many Are Playing Small in Their Life
Did you know that Two-thirds of Brits and over seventy percent of Americans feel they are living an unfulfilled life, according to new research? When we are not living to our full capability, it is the very definition of playing small in our life. That is why it is so vital that we start playing big and living a no regrets life.
Despite an overwhelming majority of people saying they have a bucket list, most of us have only ticked off between one and five items on it. That is because we fall into the trap of security, comfort, and fear. Those things holding us back from living the passion-driven life we are meant to live.
In this episode, you will understand why it is so detrimental to play small and the criteria for doing so. Also, what it means to play big and how that can have a profound impact on your happiness.
New Interviews with the World's GREATEST high achievers will be posted every Tuesday with a Momentum Friday inspirational message!

What is a Bucket List?
A bucket list, also called a life list, is a group of activities that you want to experience or accomplish before you die. We all have some idea about the things we want to do in life, but compiling them into a concrete list can make them a reality.
Your bucket list should contain items that are deeply meaningful to you. Don’t include items simply because you feel you should or because others would find them impressive. What are your dreams? What brings you fulfillment?

How to Resolve Conflict in 5 Steps w/ John R. Miles EP 43
Just like “death and taxes,” conflict is inevitable! Why? Because no two individuals have the same needs and concerns. That is why it is essential to understand how to resolve conflict in 5 steps.
Like this? Please subscribe, and join me on my new platform for personal development: https://passionstruck.com/.
In this powerful Momentum Friday Episode, John R. Miles discusses unhealthy vs. healthy conflict resolution and understanding the different conflict management styles.
Conflict, or more specifically, interpersonal conflict, is a fact of life and organizational life. It often emerges when people are stressed, for example, when there are changes on the horizon or when everyone is under pressure because of a looming deadline. However, conflict can also arise in relationships and situations outside work.
How to Resolve Conflict in a Healthy Way
But there is a difference between healthy and unhealthy conflict. Without conflict, we don’t have robust relationships, create a future vision, and don’t move the needle. But unhealthy conflict ends up eating away at trust and shared values. That is why diplomacy is so important to bringing about healthy conflict management.
According to the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI), used by human resource (HR) professionals worldwide, there are five major styles to resolve conflict—collaborating, competing, avoiding, accommodating, and compromising. Knowing when and how to use each style can help resolve conflict and improve the working environment or interpersonal relationships.

In this powerful Passion Struck Podcast Episode, John R. Miles and Sydney Wong discuss her journey from McGill University to becoming a financial analyst to now leading a startup accelerator in Montreal, CA. We go into why balance, your self-narrative, and routine is so vital in becoming a lean startup.
Sydney met startups at Montreal events that needed help with funding and grants; she offered to write business plans. In 2016, she launched a gamified business plan writing application.
Most people didn't complete "Product Validation" Level 3 (out of 8 levels) during the beta. That was the biggest failure for startups, so she grouped and built out this application. She broadened the research to understand the success metrics that investors, government grantors, and banks are looking for when funding startups.
The VenturX metrics were reverse-engineered to provide quality startups the best chances for funding and success. The rest is history!!!
