The Maris Review

Over the course of 99 episodes, The Maris Review has featured casual yet intimate conversations with authors like Susan Choi, George Saunders, Raven Leilani, and David Sedaris. For the 100th episode celebration, host Maris Kreizman is joined by a few of her very favorites -- Alexander Chee, Morgan Parker, and Emma Straub -- to talk about reading as both a writer and a part of a literary community. We’ll converse online and take questions from the audience. He is winner of a 2021 Guggenheim Fellowship. He is an associate professor of English at Dartmouth College.Morgan Parker is a poet, essayist, and novelist. She is the author of the young adult novel Who Put This Song On?; and the poetry collections Other People’s Comfort Keeps Me Up At Night, There Are More Beautiful Things Than Beyoncé, and Magical Negro, which won the 2019 National Book Critics Circle Award. Parker’s debut book of nonfiction is forthcoming from One World. She is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship, winner of a Pushcart Prize, and has been hailed by The New York Times as “a dynamic craftsperson” of “considerable consequence to American poetry.”Emma Straub is the New York Times-bestselling author of three novels The Vacationers, Modern Lovers, Laura Lamont's Life in Pictures, and the short story collection Other People We Married.
